KSRTC is the first STU in India to induct Semi-low floor
buses under Jn-NURM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban
renewal Mission) scheme. The buses are designed in-house
as per the specifications and requirements, suggested by the
Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India. These buses
have features which are much improved over and above the
minimum requirements.

All these in-house designed buses are fitted with

ergonomically designed passenger seats, wider doors,
specially designed full length emergency door, wider window
glasses with air ventilation. The response from the traveling
public is overwhelming.

The Government of India has appreciated the design of

the bus drafted in-house by KSRTC as excellent and has
recommended other states to consider this model.

being taken to contain the indiscipline.
A De-addiction Unit ‘Chetana Kendra’ has been started at Corporations’
hospital. It has helped to win over the workers and their family from the awful
practice of alcohol addiction.

KSRTC has established a programme ‘Preventive Medicine & Healthy

Life Style Clinic’ to conduct medical test to the staff at corporation’s
hospital at Jayanagr, Bangalore. This programme is organised by a tri-
sector body consisting of (a) KSRTC (b)The Common Wealth Association
for Mental Handicap & Developmental Disabilities (c) World Health
