The Team Kentucky poster contest provides children an opportunity to increase awareness about the
common goals that unite us as Kentuckians and what we can accomplish when we come together as one
team.
The winners and their families, along with school representatives, will be invited to the Capitol Dec. 10,
where Governor Andy Beshear and First Lady Britainy Beshear will recognize them. The recognized
artwork will be framed and on display in the Capitol during inauguration celebrations.
Contest Theme
Ask a child to imagine all Kentuckians working together to accomplish common goals that help all
Kentucky families and, as a member of this team, draw a picture of the goal they want their team to
accomplish. Dream big!
Age Groups
A panel of judges, including Britainy Beshear, will judge all entries anonymously and select one winner
from each age category. Two overall winners will be selected for having the most colorful and most
creative poster.
Ages 6-9
Ages 10-13
Ages 14-17
Contest Rules
Posters should be submitted on paper no larger than 12 x 16 inches and include a completed Entry Form.
Please do not frame and please, no computer generated artwork. Please use, color crayons, watercolor,
acrylic, oil, permanent markers, felt-tip pens, soft ballpoint pens, colored pencils or permanent ink. Please
do not use nonpermanent mediums, like charcoal. By sending in a poster, it will become the property of
the Commonwealth of Kentucky and it will not be returned. It may be displayed in state buildings,
publications or other promotions.

Eligibility
All Kentucky children can participate. However, members of the judges’ family are ineligible.
