1
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT ;
Firstly , we had a visit to Magnum Beverages Foods PVT LTD
located near Bokul , Dibrugarh on dated – 8 november, 2019 at 11
a.m. by our Dibrugarh Polytechnical Faculty. I had a view how
drinking water bottles are manufactured and packed.
kinds of machines were used such as –
 Auto Stretch Blow Forming Machine .
 Rinser Filler Capper
 Others
Raw material used there was named as PREFORM.
Firstly , I saw their an Auto Stretch Blow Forming Machine. The
Preform which is typically pre-heated gets installed on the Auto
Stretch Blow Forming Machine by workers which is then transferred
within the machine to the station where it gets stretched in the axial
direction and blown into bottle shape which then gets ejected from the
machine. Then I saw workers installing those bottles on a machine
named as Rinser Filler Capper machine which runs at 60-90
B.P.M.(Beats Per Minute).Rinsing empty bottles before moving onto
the filling station is an incredibly important step because it helps
prevent contaminated product from being distributed. From there, the
Filling of product is put into each bottle to maintain brand
consistency. And the last step, the Capper, needs to create a reliable
seal on the bottle to make sure that liquids do not leak and a
highquality end product is delivered to each consumer. Failure to
clean, fill, or seal bottles properly could lead to potential recall and
wasted product, which can cost the company a great deal. When I
asked one of the staff member of the company that how much water
bottle they produces per day they answered that they produces approx.
15000 bottle per day.

ION EXCHANGE PROCESS FOR WATER
TREATMENT -

Ion exchange is a water treatment process commonly used for water

softening or demineralization. Ion exchange describes a specific
chemical process in which unwanted dissolved ions are exchanged for
other ions with a similar charge. Ions are atoms or molecules
containing a total number of electrons that are not equal to the total
number of protons.

The exchange process occurs between a solid (resin or a zeolite) and a

liquid (water). In the process, the less desired compounds are
swapped for those that are considered more desirable. These desirable
ions are loaded onto the resin material.

In the exchange of cations during water treatment, positively charged

ions that come into contact with the ion exchange resin are exchanged
with positively charged ions available on the resin surface, usually
sodium. In the anion exchange process, negatively charged ions are
exchanged with negatively charged ions on the resin surface, usually
chloride.

Recently ion exchange resins have been increasingly used to create

drinking water.
