DEFINITIONS OF ADVERTISING
According to Wheeler, “Advertising is any form of paid non-personal presentation of ideas,
goods or services for the purpose of inducting people to buy.”

Frank Presbrey – “Advertising is a printed, written, oral and illustrated art of selling. Its
objective is to encourage sales of the advertiser’s products and to create in the mind of people,
individually or collectively, an impression in favour of the advertiser’s interest.”

According to William Stanton, “Advertising consists of all activities involved in presenting to a


group a non-personal, oral or visual, openly sponsored identified message regarding a product,
service, or idea. The message, called an advertisement, is disseminated through one or more
media and is paid for by the identified sponsor.”

According to Philip Kotler, ‘’Advertising includes oral, written, or audio-visual message


addressed to the people for the purpose of informing and influencing them to buy the products or
to act favorably toward idea or institution.’’

According to Richard Buskirk, “Advertising is a paid form of non-personal presentation of ideas,


goods or services by an identified sponsor.”

ADVERTISMENT
My Product: Safeguard soap
Previous Commercial:
In the previous commercial they are showing that a group of children are playing in a garden
which is full of muddy water and their grandmother are trying to stop them from playing by
saying that they will get sick but on the other hand their mother said that ‘‘ Rokna tu pary ga
bacho ko nahe germs ko’’.

Reason to select the ad for new idea:


I like this commercial. The concept showing in this commercial is completely related to the
product but the reason I want to create a new ad is that safeguard soap is showing the same
concept in their commercials again and again which makes the ad more predictable and don’t
surprise the audience and in my view surprise element in the ad is very important.
New Advertisement Idea:
If I make safeguard commercial my idea is not only to show that antibacterial soap kill germs
and make people healthy but my commercial will also show negative affects of whitening soap
which mostly people use and by showing negative affects of whitening soap and how badly it
affects our skin I can persuade people to use more safeguard soap which is antibacterial.
My commercial starts off with a scene where a mother buys a whitening soap and give it to her
daughter to use it but after using it start showing its negative affect like bacterial infection
because whitening soaps are not antibacterial it does not kill germs. Then a doctor suggested a
mother to use a safeguard which is antibacterial and kill 99.9% percent of germs and tell the
mother about the negative affects of the whitening soap.
