The Importance of ICT and its impact on our daily lives

 ICT is a force that has changed many aspects of the way we live. Information and
Communication Technologies consist of the hardware, software, networks, and media for collection,
storage, processing, transmission and presentation of information (voice, data, text, images), as well as
related services. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are referred to as the varied
collection of technological gear and resources which are made use of to communicate. They are also
made use of to generate, distribute, collect and administer information (Sarkar, 2012).

Information and communication technologies have become an essential part of today’s

everyday life and business. Modern technologies resulted in wide-spread diversification of business
activities and facilitate the mitigation of various trade, financial, and cultural barriers. The possibility
for rapid communication, the wide-band data transfer and the quick access to various information
resources intensify the activities of businesses and other organizations, increase the volume of trade
and, thus, promote economic growth. One of the advantages of ICT is that every company can actively
participate in daily communication process, organize and control its operations within minutes, track
the delivery of goods different types of electronic documents or execution of job-related tasks
regardless of the current physical location of the employee. (Sarkisyan & Tsenov, 2015). Moreover,
ICT is considered as a mainstream in higher education and e-learning using ICT facilities are put into
existence. E-learning has increased not only the speed of transferring knowledge, but also the method
of transferring from one person to another (Talebian, Mohammadi, & Rezvanfar, 2014).

In conclusion,technologies are a driving force behind much of the development and innovation
in both developed and developing countries. ICT also adds value to the process of learning and to the
organization and management of learning institutions.
