SCOOP.IT- Scoop.it caters to professionals, business and non-profits, and corporations. Choose from a
free or one of the paid plans, depending on how many topics you want to post about.

WE HEART IT- We Heart It positions themselves as a place to find inspiration. This app is more on visual
including image and videos.

SLASHDOT- it is an app where you can post news, book reviews and more.

REDDIT- Users submit links to stories, images or videos that they find interesting and other Reddit users
can either upvote or downvote these submissions.

DIGG- Previously it was more like Reddit where the front page was curated through the users of the site.

FARK- users can submit articles to the administrators of the site. Each day, these administrators pick out
50 articles to display on the front page.

SLASHDOT- It focuses mainly on science and technology-related news. Users can submit stories and the
editors pick out the best stories each day for the front page.

DIGG- This system allows users to "digg" or "bury" articles. "Digging" is the equivalent of voting
positively, so that popular articles are displayed first.

REDDIT- The submissions are organized into categories called "subreddits". Unlike Digg, with Reddit,
users can directly affect an article's score. An "upvote" will increase the score and a "downvote" will
decrease it.

UNSLATED.NET- Unslanted.net launched in 2018 and has tools allowing the community to vote on the
lean, credibility, and quality of news articles.

VOAT- is also a social news website and is very similar to Reddit visually and functionally. The site has a
far-right US political viewpoint.

NEWSVINE-Newsvine, started in March 2006, is a social news website mostly focused on politics, both
international and domestic.

ZITE- You can pick your topics and favorite news outlets, or ask for some suggestions based on your
Pocket list, Twitter and Facebook accounts.

PULSE-These sections are then listed in a standard side bar, each of which contains a grid of tiny squares
representing different articles.

CIRCA- Circa is a relatively young app, but its treatment of news stories and streamlined interface makes
it an incredibly exciting prospect.
