SLIDE 1

A hologram is a physical structure that diffracts light into an image. The term 'hologram'
can refer to both the encoded material and the resulting image. A holographic image can
be seen by looking into an illuminated holographic print or by shining a laser through
a hologram and projecting the image onto a screen.

Holography is a technique which enables three-dimensional images (holograms) to be
made. It involves the use of a laser, interference, diffraction, light intensity recording and
suitable illumination of the recording.

It will have tremendous effects on all fields of life including business, education, science, art
and healthcare.
Holographic technology and it’s
impact on our social environments
Posted on April 4, 2015 by andrewbegue
What if I told you that the way that Holographic technology will change the way that we
socialise? Would you believe me? Holographic technology has already made a huge impact
on our social environments, although holographic technology may not have influenced as of
yet it is only a matter of time before it makes it’s way into your life and influences your way
of life. Do you remember “Tupac”? He was is a well known Rapper that died over 20 years
ago, yet he was seen performing on stage as recent as 2012, at this point you may be asking
yourself “How is this possible?”, you guessed it “Holographic technology”. At the 2012
Coachella music festival a “Tupac” virtual performance was held at the Coachella music
festival, Tupac rose from the dead!… for at least one night. An event such as this
revolutionised the modern day concert and gave us a taste of what is to come.
Another story, Michael Jackson "return" in the form of a hologram at Sunday night's Billboard Music
Awards 2014. Five years after his death, a digitally-recreated Michael Jackson stole the show as he
sang, danced and moonwalked across the stage in familiar fashion.
The spectral Jackson performed "Slave to the Rhythm," one of the singles from "Xscape," a new album
of posthumously released Jackson music. He was accompanied by actual, physically present dancers.
It was either the most amazing thing ever -- or super creepy, depending on which side of the fence
you were viewing it from.
The fact that an entire social event was formed around holographic technology is proof that
is capable of affecting us socially.
How do you imagine social interaction within 10 years, taking into consideration the
impact of technology of human relations? The evolution of technology will have a
progressive but significant impact on social interactions and the way we build relationships
with others.

New technologies such as the universal translator and the hologram are likely to be
developed in the next decade. These devices will allow us to communicate more effectively
with more people around the world. Holographic technology is also capable of affecting
how we communicate with each other as well as our use of social media. Technologies such
as mobile phones, social media and webcamming have highly influenced our lives already,
consuming most of our attention and free time.

It has been predicted that holographic technology will be integrated into technology such
as our mobile phones sometime in the next ten years. People will be able to electronically
communicate with each other on a 3-dimensional plane, allowing for entirely new social
interaction experience, imagine seeing an image of friend projected into thin air or even a
3-dimensional model, you will be able to experience the company of anyone at anytime.

But

Human will always be human.

I believe technology will never substitute the need for physical interaction that we have.
Humans will always meet in person and technology will allow us to intensify our
relationships with memories, longer lives, more time, information. The “Virtual reality”
aspect of holographic technology rids us of our need for seeing each other physically.
Would you still bother to see your friends and family when you could chat to them using
holography instead?
