Dear Michelle Groves and class,
My name is Mr. Aidan Kidd, I am very excited to have the opportunity to share your
classroom with you. I look forward to having the chance to get to know every single one of you
over the next few weeks and months as your PSI practicum student. My post-secondary journey
started at the Lethbridge College, where I spent two years working towards a General Studies
diploma. In the fall of 2017, I transferred to the University of Lethbridge where I am currently
finishing a degree in general science; my main stream being kinesiology and two other streams
being in sociology and psychology. Along with my major I have also picked up a minor in
mathematics. All this put quite simply, PE and Math are my main two specialities. And of
course, I am now a student in the Faculty of Education, where I’m learning how to be a teacher-
my time in your classroom will be invaluable for my learning, so thank you for the time and
opportunity.
Being a teacher was part of my upbringing, as many members of my family already work
in the profession. However, what sealed the deal for me in terms of my own decision to
become a teacher, was finding enjoyment in coaching and leading day camps through various
activities. Those experiences are some of my most cherished memories, and I believe teaching
will challenge, excite, and do everything in between. This belief pushes me to see what other
memorable moments can be made. Ultimately, sports gave me the desire to become a teacher:
whether that is watching, playing, coaching, talking or listening to them, guiding others brings
enjoyment to my life. Sports have helped me live an active lifestyle and I would love to share
my passion with this class. I am firm believer that living an active lifestyle is important for health
and happiness. This outlook has provided me with some of the best moments of my life.
Another interesting fact about me is that I love to play poker. Poker allows me to travel
around various places playing in tournaments, where people from all around have come
together to play. This in turn allows me to visit all sorts of new and exciting places, while also
giving me the chance to meet people who have traveled from all corners of the globe.
I would like to thank you again for letting me join your class, and I am looking forward
