My bloodiest fight

Emilio Aguinaldo, Gen. Candido Tria Tirona and Gen. Pio del Pilar
planned to attack the Spaniard soldies in Banadero, Tanauan while they
are in Silang, Cavite. The group went to Imus and found out that they
were betrayed by Philippine soldiers who sided with the enemies.
Edilberto Evangelista came in the picture and told Aguinaldo that he
would help the Philippines achieve freedom. The latter agreed and
made Evangelista Director General and for him to work with Crispulo,
his brother. They bought fire arms in Hong Kong in January of 1897. At
the same time, Aguinaldo and company decided to split their groups
into three. During battle, they went to their strategized position. They
faced more than 5,000 soldiers, headed by Captain General Ramon
Blanco, using their weapons. As the soldiers started to come towards
them, the war started. Unfortunately, General Tirona got shot and died.
They also started to load and release their cannons to the enemies. On
the other hand, some Filipinos fought with their bolos and arrows. After
the fight, claimed freedom in Cavite and they have gathered 200 guns.
However, on November 12-14, the Spaniards started to attack the town
of Cavite el Viejo (Kawit), Bacoor, and Noveleta. Fortunately, no major
casualties have occurred.

Magdiwang Council Reorganized

This chapter narrates that the Magdiwang Council have reorganized,
and they aim to liberate Philippines from the tyranny of Spain.
Magdalo, was named after Lady Magdalene, the patron of Cavite el
Viejo, because of its principle to help the needy. This council relocated
at Imus because the Spaniards continue to attack Cavite el Viejo with
their cannons. In April 1897, Magdiwang won its battle in Dalakihan,
Noveleta. Although they got 100 guns, a lot of soldiers died during the
battle. Gen. Alvarez, Mariano Riego de Dios, Santiago Alvarez, Aguedo
Montoya, and Capt. Francisco Montoya was credited for this win. Four
days after, Major Gregorio arrived in Pasong Santol, Naic and during the
past days, tried to widen their trenches. On the other hand, Col.
Mariano Yengko was found dead in the place. Meanwhile, Aguinaldo
are still worried about his family and Magdalo Council because he has
not visited both in a while. He even forgot about his birthday due to the
current situation of the country.

My Election to the Presidency

Tejeros Convention was discussed in this chapter, wherein Magdalo and
Magdiwang have gathered together to elect their new government.
Aguinaldo was surprised that he was elected president despite the fact
that Bonifacio was the one who arranged the meeting. This was
announced to him by Col. Vicente Riego de Dios while he was in Pasong
Santol, Dasmarinas. Bonifacio was nominated in various positions but
only won as “Secretario de Interior”. Everything was fine until General
Daniel Tirona objected and saying that he is not qualified because he is
not a lawyer. Bonifacio took out his revolver and pointed it to Tirona.
Supremo reinstated that they had an agreement that the everyone will
respect the elected candidate. He also questioned why his win is being
objected. But because the Supremo was offended, he stood up
announcing that the said election was void, and then he left without
saying anything. Colonel Santiago Rillo continued the meeting and
talked about making the recent election official. After this, the meeting
was stopped, and they waited for General Emilio Aguinaldo to arrive.
When Aguinaldo arrived, he made his speech and accepted the
presidency he was given. He also promised to his fellows that he will
not let them down. In March 23, Major Andres Villanueva of Naic
ordered his batallion to come. At the same time, a resolution was
passed voiding the meeting they had in Tejeros Malabon. Meanwhile,
Aguinaldo sent the troops from Ternate, Maragondon, and Magallanes
to Pasong Santol. Unfortunately, the enemies have successfully raided
the area and General Crispulo Aguinaldo on March 25 of the same year.

Military Court
General Emilio Aguinaldo consulted the other generals about the
creation of Military Court. However, they did not agree on this plan
because of two reasons: they are in the midst of war and they are
attacked by the enemies every day. This chapter also stated the serious
charges against the Bonifacio brothers: (1) an anonymous letter of
accusing Aguinaldo an alleged plot to surrender to General Lachambre,
(2) the brothers have a plan to establish another government, (3) their
plan to liquidate Aguinaldo, (4) the escape of the Bonifacio brothers
together with General Artemio Ricarte to escape from the responsibility
of their acts, and (5) their dereliction of duty because they refused to
fight for their country. The generals of Aguinaldo, specifically Gen. Pio
del Pilar and Gen Mariano Noriel, convinced Miong to execute the
Bonifacio brothers. At the end, Aguinaldo stated that the trials of the
Bonifacio brothers immediately started in Naic before it was moved in
Maragondon.

The Death of the Bonifacio Brothers

After the trials of the Bonifacio brothers conducted by Consejo de
Guerra, composed of seven people led by Gen. Mariano Norie, Andres
and Procopio were found guilty of treachery, sedition, and rebellion.
Both were punished with death. Aguinaldo said that after he knew
about this, he felt pity for the two. He realized that he never thought
that he would have enemies in his entire life, except at that time when
he was fighting for his country. Aguinaldo also said that it did not also
come to his mind that he would encounter an enemy who is a fellow
Filipino during his fight with the Spaniards. Because of his pity, he
intended to lower the punishment to just exile them in the mountains
of Pico de Loro. Upon hearing this, Gen. Pio del Pilar and Gen. Mariano
Noriel came immediately to Miong and convinced him not to continue
his plan because the Bonifacio brothers might still have a chance to
execute their plans and might also be a threat to the current
government. They also said that the brothers should not be forgiven
because they are considered traitors. Miong was convinced by this and
nulled his first decision. Because of this, the execution still pursued.
Andres and Procopio Bonifacio was executed in Mount Tala by the
soldiers of Commandant Lazaro Makapagal.
