Agrimachinery, Farm Implements, Food Processing Equipment

I. Industry / Commodity definitions from the 2009 Philippine Standard Industrial

Classification (PSIC)
a. Agrimachinery are machineries used in farming or other agriculture. There are many types
of such equipment, from hand tools and power tools to tractors and the countless kinds of farm
implements that they tow or operate.

b. Farm Implements are those accessories/devices which are being pulled by working animals
or mounted to machineries and are usually used in the preparation of land.
c. Food Processing Equipment are machineries that are used in transforming raw materials
into its final product form making it faster, easier and more précised.

IV. Other challenges needed to be addressed (relating to human resource, and
existing policies)
Current Situation
 Capacity-building programs for personnel by enjoining them into seminars and
workshops that can be used for application in their work.
 Policy Constraints. One of the reasons for the proliferation of imported equipment
in the Philippines is the adoption of liberal import policies and lack of import
restrictions on agricultural machinery
