SOLUTION:
At service on electric cars, please pay attention to these issues:

How is the battery cooled?

Air cooled:
In this case, there may be a dust filter that needs to be checked. If necessary, see bulletin No. 5210.

Water cooled:
In this case, please note whether fluid needs to be replenished.
If coolant is lacking in this container, you should check thoroughly whether the system is leak tight.
See e.g. bulletin No. 5220.

Air conditioning:
The A/C compressor is also part of the high voltage system.
You have to use a special oil, which is not conductive.
Always check manufacturer's recommendation of oil type! This also applies to the leak detection
agent!
PAG (Sanden SP A2).
POE. Usually ND11 or POE100.
If necessary, see bulletin No. 5758.

You should also be aware that usually you cannot drain the oil from the electric compressor.
Therefore, it is necessary to flush the system to get the oil out of the compressor.
We recommend to comply with manufacturer's instructions, as the procedure may include flushing
various places and directions as well as fitting a different orifice during flushing.

Battery for high voltage:
Usually, the battery is covered by an extended warranty.
It is important to examine the manufacturer’s requirements for battery maintenance for the warranty
to still stand.
For example, an annual SOH (State Of Health).
This will also appear in the maintenance schedule of the car.
See an example of this from Toyota in bulletin No. 4112.

Suspension:
You should start with a thorough visual check of the wires to high voltage.
In case of damage to suspension or bodywork, you must make sure that no damage has been inflicted
to the high voltage system.
Usually, electric / hybrid cars weigh more than ordinary cars due to the battery.
This causes increased wear of the following components:
b Tyres
b Brakes
b Suspension (suspension ball joints, bushings)

In electric cars, recuperation (power charging) is often used to engage the brakes of the car.
Therefore, it is important to disassemble the brakes to check for corrosion and subsequently lubricate
moving parts.
This should be carried out at each service!

SOLUTION CONTINUED:
The charge connector in the car should also be
checked.
If the charge connector runs sluggishly when fitting it
in the car, some manufacturer’s recommend to
lubricate the area around the connector with a suitable
grease. (Lithium grease, PTFE Teflon).

The charge connector can also become mechanically worn after numerous charges.
If the charge connector cannot connect properly due to wear or if it is not depressed completely (due
to lack of lubrication), heat generation may occur and subsequently risk of fire.
