Unit 1: Planning a Writing Task

Dear students,

I contact you to give you detailed information about the additional activity that we will
be doing during the tutorship of this unit with the purpose of enriching our experience.

First of all, the time to complete the additional activity starts on Feb, 21st and finishes
on Feb, 27th, both days included. Participation in the task is mandatory and it is a 20%
of the final mark of the unit. Be careful with your writing in the debates and the activity,
since orthography and grammatical errors are highly analysed, and as stated in my
previous message, evaluation is public. Try to write clear and organised sentences.

The aim of this activity is to help you to identify your own difficulties and advantages
when writing. First of all, read the attached file Additional Activity_1_U1. Observe
how the different factors are related in during the writing process.

Next, individually, complete the scheme in the file Additional activity_2_U1 and
identify the factors that affect your writing process. Write in green the factors that help
in your writing, use red to mark the difficulties, and, finally, write in blue the objectives
or recompenses. After this, identify the moderators as you did before. Use red for the
negative moderators which reinforce your difficulties and use green for those which
help you. If it is not possible to write on the images, you can write under the scheme.
You can also print the activity and attach a handwriting copy. When the scheme is
completed, attach it on your forum participation.

Finally, write a reflection (100 words minimum, 200 maximum) about how to
overcome the difficulties and negative moderators, and how the facilitators and the
positive moderators can help on the task. During the next units, these topics will be
dealt in depth.
