3.2.2 Door Release Button

The Open button is the door switch device installed in the room. The door opens when
this button is closed. The Open button is fixed on the wall in the room at the height
about 1.4m from the floor. The Open button should be protected from electromagnetic
disturbance (e.g. the lighting switch and PC will cause electromagnetic disturbance).

3.2.3 Alarm

It is also called burglar alarm. It is a general designation of the electronic

products that alarm in sound, light or air pressure for accidents, dangers and
emergencies.

3.2.4 Door Bell

The doorbell terminal of this device is directly connected to the doorbell button on the
panel. You just need to connect the existing doorbell button cable to Door bell port in
the device.

3.2.5 Door Lock

The installation of the door lock depends on its type and the influence caused by the
circuit resistance should be considered to select power cord for the lock. Make sure the
door lock is firm and the connection is proper. For electric bolt and magnetic lock,
please make sure that the polarity is correct. If there is any cable left, please cut off the
bare end and wrap with insulation adhesive tape separately.

Selecting door lock: for glass double-door (open either inside or outside), please
select Electric bolt. For wood single door in offices (open only inside or outside),

please select magnetic lock. The magnetic lock is also called electromagnetic lock and
its stability is higher than electric bolt, but the electric bolt has higher security. In
communities, it’s better to use magnetic lock and electric bolt. The electric bolt makes
louder noise. Generally, most buildings use electric bolt. Either magnetic lock or
electric bolt should be protect from rain. Other unpopular electric locks are not
recommended.

Connecting electric bolt: this fingerprint access control device support the NO
(Normally Open) and NC (Normally Closed) lock connection.

1) NO (Normally Open): When in energized, the lock keeps open, de-energized, lock
keeps closed. It should connect to the NC interface.

2) NC (Normally Closed): when in energized, the lock keeps closed, de-energized,

lock keeps closed. It should connect to the NO interface.

Fingerprint access control device: operating voltage: DC12V; operating current:

350mA
There’re connection methods for the Lock in the following: (When you use Normally
Closed Lock, it’s recommended to use the Connection Method A. when you use the

electromotive force that came from the instant when the

lock is open, we need to parallel connect a
diode(Model:1N4007) to the electric lock during
installation.(There’s a 1N4007 diode comes along with
the device package, please do not mistake the positive
and the negative side.) This connection will release the
self induction electromotive .

And:if the working voltage of Lock is 12V, Power Supply / Lock

power output Current – Lock working current > 1A. And when the
distance is short, we could use the same Power supply for the
Fingerprint Access control device and the Lock.

If lock working voltage is 12V, Power Supply / Lock power output

Current – Lock working current > 1A, and distance is long, we could
not use the same Power supply for the Device and the Lock together.

It is recommend that do not connect the Device and the

Lock to one power supply.

When use the RS485 connection, we should follow the bus network structured for
wiring.

When in a long distance or high speed, there would be echo talker in circuit. This
would lead that the RS485 connection cannot work well. We would consider to parallel
a resistance (120Ω) at begin and end of the circuit. (Normally, we don't need to add
this resistance.)
