BACKGROUND

In a competitive environment any management would like to have more profit


and higher productivity not only for their survival but also for their growth.
The company executives including the operating personnel want to be assured
that their organization is well managed and the losses are controlled. In order
to maintain smooth flow of operation at every stage, management should
follow safety procedures to safeguard the equipment and health and safety of
their employees.
Industrial workers in their day-to-day work are exposed to various kinds of
health hazards. Rapid industrialization has resulted in enormous increase in
such problems.
As a part of implementation of the National Policy on “Occupational Safety,
Health and Environment at Workplace” and in consideration of the above,
Madras Management Association in collaboration with the Regional Labour
Institute, Chennai is organizing the Seventh Batch of the 5 day Certificate
Course on Occupational Safety from 9th to 13th December, 2019.
The participants have to come prepared with the information relating to their
Management System, Operational Process, and safe practices followed in
their plant. This will enable them to participate effectively in the programme.

OBJECTIVE
The objective of this Certificate Course is to safeguard the health and safety
of the personnel in industry which in turn results in higher efficiency,
productivity, quality and safety in industrial work. The Programme will be

Registration starts at 9.30 am and Course commences at 10.00 am. However
changes in nomination before commencement of programme permitted. Fee
includes Course Kit, Lunch, Certificate awarded by Regional Labour
Institute (Govt. of India) and Madras Management Association (MMA).

CERTIFICATE

Certificate will be issued jointly by MMA and RLI, Government of India.


They will only be issued to programme participants who have successfully

REGIONAL LABOUR INSTITUTE, CHENNAI
The Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes
(DGFASLI), Mumbai is an attached office of the Ministry of Labour and
Employment, Government of India to serve as a technical arm to assist the
Ministry in formulating National Policies on Occupational Safety and Health
and to advise the State Governments and Factories on matters concerning
Safety and Health of persons at work. It also enforces safety and health
statutes in major parts of the country.

Regional Labour Institute, Chennai is one of the Subordinate Offices of


DGFASLI, Government of India, Ministry of Labour and Employment with the
objective of providing technical advice to State Governments and to the
Industries in the southern region. This organization is poised to grow further
to meet the increased demands of the industries and society.

About MMA
Madras Management Association (MMA) was established in 1956 with the
prime objective of promoting management education, training and
development activities in this part of the country. The vision of MMA is “To be
