Abstract

The internal combustion engine (ICE) is an engine where the combustion of

a fuel (typically petroleum derived such as gasoline or diesel fuel) occurs with an oxidizer
(usually air) in a combustion chamber that is an integral part of the working fluid flow circuit. In
an internal combustion engine the expansion of the high-temperature and high-pressure gases
produced by combustion apply direct force to some component of the engine. The force is
applied typically to pistons, turbine blades, or a nozzle. This force moves the component over a
distance, transforming chemical energy into useful mechanical energy.
The term internal combustion engine usually refers to an engine in which combustion is
intermittent, such as the more familiar four-stroke and two-stroke piston engines, along with
variants, such as the six-stroke piston engine and the Wankel rotary engine.

Electromagnetism, or the electromagnetic force is one of the four fundamental

interactions in nature. The other three are the strong interaction, the weak interaction,
and gravitation. This force is described by electromagnetic fields, and has innumerable physical
instances including the interaction of electrically charged particles and the interaction of
uncharged magnetic force fields with electrical conductors.
During the quark epoch, the electroweak force split into the electromagnetic and weak force. The
electromagnetic force plays a major role in determining the internal properties of most objects
encountered in daily life. Ordinary matter takes its form as a result of intermolecular forces
between individual molecules in matter. Electrons are bound by electromagnetic wave mechanics
into orbitals around atomic nuclei to form atoms, which are the building blocks of molecules.
This governs the processes involved in chemistry, which arise from interactions between the
electrons of neighboring atoms, which are in turn determined by the interaction between
electromagnetic force and the momentum of the electrons.

An electro-magnetic internal combustion engine having means to operate in an electro-

magnetic configuration, as well as internal combustion configuration.

Most vehicles, and especially automobiles, comprise internal combustion engines that run
exclusively on gasoline. Other vehicles run by electrical means or hybrid means. Mainly an
electro-magnetic internal combustion engine having means to operate in an electro-magnetic
configuration, as well as in internal combustion configuration.

The instant invention is an electro-magnetic internal combustion engine, comprising a housing

structure. Cylinder means comprises at least two cylinders being encased in the housing structure

and each includes a piston and a piston rod. The piston has first and second ends. The first end
has a magnetic body and the second end is connected to the piston rod. Crankcase means are a
mixed to the housing structure. Crankshaft means are positioned in the crankcase means. The
piston rod is assembled to the crankshaft means in the crank.

Concept of six stroke using electromagnetism.

First 4 strokes of the engine are dedicated to the internal combustion process, and the last 2
stroke is dedicated to run on electromagnetic configuration.

Stroke 1: intake of fuel

Stroke 2: compression of fuel

Stroke 3: combustion of fuel

Stroke 4: exhaust

Stroke 5: repellent action from electromagnets (intake value open)

Stroke 6: attraction action from electromagnets (exhaust value open)

Defects in previous construction of this model.

The coils placed in the system were not in the proper position, hence poor performance were
observed when the engine was made to run in electromagnetic configuration.

Magnetic lines of force generated inside the cylinder were not efficient to ripple or attract the
permanent magnets which was placed on the head of the piston.

Objective.

Our project mainly concentrate on the change of the construction of electromagnetic internal
combustion engine, which makes it more efficient than the previous model.

Present best IC Engines can deliver an efficiency upto 40-42%. Our main objective is to improve
the efficiency of the internal combustion engines, and reduce the cost of travelling and also to
improve the performance with less consumption of fuel.

Our motto is to deliver a highly efficient engine to the present society. And to overcome the
disadvantages facing in the present IC engines.

4 strokes of an internal combustion engine.

5th stroke.

During the intake of 5th stroke, in take value will be on, provided only
atmospheric air enters the combustion chamber to prevent the formation
of vacuum in the chamber and prevent loss of energy.

Repellent action takes place in this stroke. The electromagnetic placed in

the value pushes the magnet placed on the head of the piston, which
completes a stroke.

6th stroke.

During the exhaust of 6th stroke, exhaust value will be open, and collected
atmospheric air exits through exhaust port.

Attraction action takes place in this stroke. The electromagnetic placed in

the value attracts the magnet placed on the head of the piston, which
completes a stroke.
