PRAYERS FOR ADVENT A
Queremos compartir con ustedes un material que
pueden utilizar para celebrar la Santa Cena
durante adviento. El material en inglés se

Estas oraciones eucarísticas breves son inspiradas
por temas e ilustraciones de los textos del
leccionario para la temporada de adviento, año A.
Fíjese que hay cuatro opciones en cada una de las
tres secciones que componen el cuerpo de la
oración.; estas se deben utilizar como es indicado
por el domingo apropiado de adviento. En este
formato, las palabras de institución deben ser
utilizadas en la invitación a la mesa o en la
partición del pan.

tu gloria. Tú hiciste a todas las criaturas para vivir
en paz y en seguridad, y enviaste a un niñito para
guiarnos.
(Adviento 3) Tú haces que broten flores en el
desierto y agua en la tierra seca. Ahora has creado
un camino para nosotros/as en el desierto, en
donde tu pueblo, que antes fue cautivo, ahora
pueda regresar con canciones de júbilo.
(Adviento 4) Tú has sido nuestro pastor y salvador
en todas las generaciones. Aunque te damos la
espalda, tú siempre eres fiel. En la plenitud de los
tiempos, tú enviaste a tu hijo unigénito para ser
nuestro Emanuel.
Por eso te alabamos, uniendo nuestras voces a las
de los ángeles, con los profetas, los apóstoles,
los/as mártires y a toda la comunidad fiel de todo
tiempo y lugar, quienes te cantan la gloria de tu
nombre para siempre:
Santo, santo, santo, Dios de fortaleza y poder,
los cielos y la tierra están llenos de tu gloria.
Hosanna en las alturas. Bendito aquel que viene
en el nombre del Señor. Hosanna en las alturas.
Tú eres santo, Oh majestuoso Dios,
y bendito es Jesucristo, tu Hijo, nuestro Señor.
(Adviento 1) En Jesucristo, tú nos acercaste a ti
para nuestra salvación y nos enseñaste a vivir en
fe y a buscar el bienestar para toda persona. A
través de su muerte y resurrección, trajiste la vida
al mundo.
(Adviento 2) Cristo, siendo bautizado por Juan,
vino a liberarnos del pecado, y a derramar sobre
tu iglesia el Espíritu Santo. A través de nuestra fe
en Cristo, tenemos la esperanza de la vida eterna.
(Adviento 3) En Cristo, hemos visto y escuchado
las buenas nuevas de Dios: las personas enfermas
son sanadas, las extranjeras son bienvenidas, las
pobres tienen esperanza, y las muertas son
resucitadas a una nueva vida.
(Adviento 4) En Jesucristo, nacido de María, tú
cumpliste tu promesa, esperada por los profetas y
comunicada en las Escrituras. A través de su
resurrección de la muerte, recibimos vida eterna.
Al recordar tus actos llenos de gracia en
Jesucristo, tomamos de tu creación este pan y
este jugo de la vid y celebramos gozosamente su
muerte y su resurrección, mientras esperamos el
día de su venida. Con acción de gracias, nos
ofrecemos a ti, para ser sacrificios vivos y santos,
dedicados a tu servicio.
Grande es el misterio de la fe:
Cristo ha muerto, Cristo ha resucitado, Cristo
vendrá nuevamente.
Dios, lleno de gracia, derrama tu Espíritu Santo
sobre tu pueblo y sobre estos regalos de pan y de

jugo de la vid, para que el pan que partimos y la
copa que bendecimos puedan ser la comunión
del cuerpo y la sangre de Cristo. A través de tu
Espíritu, únenos a Cristo y a tu iglesia en todo el
mundo.
(Adviento 1) Haz que nos mantengamos fieles y
alertas ante la llegada de Cristo. Permite que
vivamos honorablemente como hijos e hijas de la
verdad y de la luz, para que podamos comer y
beber en unidad en tu reino eterno.
(Adviento 2) Llénanos de tu sabiduría y
entendimiento, de tu conocimiento y poder, y
concede que podamos vivir en armonía mutua,
mientras esperamos la llegada del reino celestial.
(Adviento 3) Ayúdanos a crecer en fe y en amor,
como tu pueblo en Cristo. Fortalece nuestros
corazones y enséñanos a ser pacientes, al esperar
y al orar por la venida del Señor.
(Adviento 4) Da esperanza y fortaleza a aquellas
personas que te llaman. Aliméntanos con el pan
de vida y llénanos con el espíritu de gozo, para
que así podamos compartir tu gracia y paz con
todo el mundo.
En nombre de Cristo, con Cristo, en Cristo, en la
unidad del Espíritu Santo, toda la gloria y la honra
son tuyas, Dios todopoderoso, ahora y siempre.

PRESBYTERIAN MEN
Del 20 al 23 de octubre de 2011, los Hombres
Presbiterianos Hispanos/Latinos estarán
celebrando su IV asamblea Trienal en Orlando,
Florida y están esperando tener entre 300 a 450
personas en el evento. Como algunos de ustedes
saben, se ha comenzado la planeación y
promoción del evento con la distribución de un
volante en el se presenta el siguiente lema:
Danos Señor Corazón y Espíritu nuevo. También
se anuncia en el volante la participación del Rev.
Dr. Justo González como el orador principal del
evento.
In 2011, probably from October 20-23, The
Hispanic/Latino Presbyterian Men will be
celebrating our IV Triennial Assembly in Orlando,
Florida and of course hope to have between 300-
450 people at the event. As some of you know,
we started planning and promoting the event
with the distribution of a leaflet that presented,
the theme for the activity: Lord, give us a new
heart and a new spirit. It also announces the
participation of Rev. Dr. Justo Gonzalez as the

DECLARACIÓN DE PERDÓN (When we gather)

Pastor/a: Hermanas y hermanos en Cristo, dejen que el pasado sea el pasado. Vivan cada precioso
momento. Somos una comunidad perdonada, una familia de esperanza enraizada en el optimismo
profundo de Dios. Somos gente afortunada. En Cristo recibimos el perdón por nuestros pecados. Demos
gracias a Dios.

ENCENDIDO DE LA VELA DE ADVIENTO (Estas letanías de la corona de adviento están basadas en las
lecturas de Isaías. La luz de las velas nos hacen el llamado a recordar la esperanza de antaño y nuestra esperanza de que el reino
de Dios siga llegando a su plenitud aquí y ahora).

Líder: Se alegrarán el desierto y el sequedal; se regocijará el desierto y florecerá como el azafrán. Florecerá
y se regocijará:

Pueblo: ¡Gritará de alegría!

Líder: Fortalezcan las manos débiles, afirmen las rodillas temblorosas; digan a los de corazón temeroso:
«Sean fuertes, no tengan miedo. Su Dios vendrá a salvarlos».

Pueblo: Se abrirán entonces los ojos de los ciegos y se destaparán los oídos de los sordos; saltará el cojo
como un ciervo, y gritará de alegría la lengua del mudo.

Líder: Porque aguas brotarán en el desierto, y torrentes en el sequedal. La arena ardiente se convertirá en
estanque, la tierra sedienta en manantiales burbujeantes. Las guaridas donde se tendían los chacales,
serán morada de juncos y papiros. Habrá allí una calzada que será llamada Camino de santidad. No viajarán

por ella los impuros, ni transitarán por ella los necios; será sólo para los que siguen el camino. No habrá
peligros. ¡Por allí pasará solamente el pueblo redimido!

Unísono: (La persona que lee enciende la vela, mientras todo el mundo dice al unísono) La luz nos recuerda
que nuestros serán los cantos de alegría, que seremos coronados/as de una alegría eterna. Dios nos
alcanzará con su alegría y regocijo y alejará de nosotros/as la tristeza y el gemido. Esta es nuestra

All: God of hope and peace, God of strength and gentleness, remind us again in this Advent Season of the
holy way for God’s people to travel. Forgive us for failing to see your joy and majesty. Forgive us for

LIGHTING OF THE ADVENT CANDLES (These litanies of the Advent wreath are based on readings from
Isaiah. Lighting the candles calls us to remember the hope of the past and our present hope that the kingdom of God continues to
reach its fullness here and now).

Leader: The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the
crocus, it will burst into bloom;

People: it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.

Leader: Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be
strong, do not fear; your God will come to save you.”

People: Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame
leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy.

Leader: Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The burning sand will become a
pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and

walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. There will be no
dangers there. But only the redeemed will walk there.

All: (The person that is leading lights the candle, while everyone says in unison) The light reminds us that
we will sing songs of joy and that we will be crowned with everlasting joy. God will overtake us with
gladness and joy, and will make sorrow and sighing flee away. This is our hope. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

COMMISSION (James 5: 7-10)

Pastor: Be patient brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to
yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand
firm, because the Lord's coming is near. Don't grumble against each other, sisters and brothers or you will
be judged. Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who
spoke in the name of the Lord.
