You see in almost every photo of my little sister, you will find two objects in her hands:
a pencil and a Barbie doll. She will carry them around everywhere she goes— especially her
Barbie doll. She is about 5 years old now. She got her Barbie doll six month ago. It was
given to her as a birthday gift, since that the doll has never been off her hug.
The Barbie itself is typically blonde, tall, slim, and wearing a pink top and a purple
skirt. Being the spoiled little girl, she asks mother to purchase another Barbie dolls. After
several months, she already possesses five other Barbie dolls, two skyscraper-like doll
houses where they reside, and a full “closet” of clothes for them.
Every day once she comes home from kindergarten school, she will use most of her time
playing with the Barbie, having tea parties with them, and dressing them up in new, trendy
outfits. When she is in bed for sleeping, her Barbie is always in her arms. I seldom see her
without her Barbie. I don’t know when she will get bored of the dolls.

Oryx is a type of antelope. There are four species of Oryx. One species is extinct in the
wild due to extensive hunt, but there are still few animals living in captivity (such as zoo).
Oryx can be found in eastern and southern parts of Africa, in Oman and Jordan. They live
in dry, arid or semiarid areas such as deserts, savannas and steppes.
Oryx is a large antelope. It reaches 5 to 7 feet in length; 18 to 35 inches in height at
the shoulder and weight between 220 to 450 pounds, depending on the species. Oryx is
easily recognized by horse-like neck with mane, white head covered with black triangular
patches and long V-shaped horns that can be straight or swept back. Females have thinner
horns than males. Horns are usually 2 to 3 feet long.
Oryx is territorial animal which uses its horns to establish dominance in the herd.
Dominant male uses its dung to mark the territory. Oryx lives in herds whose size depends
on the available food. When the food is abundantly present (after the rainy season), Oryx
can be found in herds composed of couple of hundreds of animals. During dry season, when
the food is scarce, Oryx lives in small herds composed of less than 30 animals.
Oryx is an herbivore which prefers eating grass and thorny shrubs. They eat during
the morning and in the late afternoon, when the temperature is lower. Oryx can survive long
period without water (even couple of weeks). Also, certain plants, such as wild melon,
underground roots and tuber, can provide enough moisture. Oryx has unique mechanism
which helps it survive in the arid and desert conditions where the temperatures are high
most of the time.

Kinabalu National Park is a 754 square kilometer park located in Sabah, Malaysia on
the island of Borneo. It is located on Borneo's northern end. Mount Kinabalu is one of the
world's youngest mountains in the world that was not created by a volcano. It was created
by tectonic activity. Mount Kinabalu is 4,095 meters in height and continues to grow. It is
believed to have been formed somewhere between 10 and 35 years ago and is still growing
each year by approximately 5 millimeters.
There are four climate zones in the park. The four climate zones in Kinabalu National
Park create an environment for a rich and diverse plant life. The vegetation regions include
the lowland dipterocarp forest, montane forest, cloud forest, and the sub-alpine zone. In the
lowland dipterocarp vegetation region is the tropical forest section of Kinabalu National Park
and includes bamboos, palms, mango trees, rattan, hundreds of fern species, and more
than 1000 orchid species.
Kinabalu National Park is home to more than 11 species of land snails. It is also home
to 326 bird species and at least 100 mammal species. There are tarsiers, Bornean gibbons,
and orang-utans in Kinabalu National Park but it is rare for visitors to actually see these
mammal species. The most commonly seen creatures are the squirrels, mouse deer, and

I always love beach so when my father decided to go to the beach last weekend. I agreed at once. I
brought everything I need at the beach like, swimming suit, towel, sunglasses, pocket camera and hat.
Arriving at the Anyer beach in Saturday afternoon, I rushed to the beach to catch the sunset.
Watching the red sky in the horizon and the sun went down slowly was amazing. The hotel for us to
stay was small but clean. The hotel staffs were wonderful. They were so friendly. But the most
important was its location was near the beach.
Early in the morning I walked along the beach. I found a beautiful place to lie. I enjoyed the
sunrise while lying on the sand. My mom brought my breakfast. A moment later I decided to learn to
surf. I hired surfing board. I found that surfing is not easy at all. I fell many times but it was fun. I
played in the water all day. I loved every minute of my holiday there, the whole relaxing atmosphere
was fabulous and a real change from my usual busy life.
In the afternoon we came back home. I felt fresh and ready to do my daily activities.
Many years ago, rabbits had long tails, not short ones, and crocodiles had tongues.
One such long-tailed rabbit lived near a pond. He drank water from the pond and the
grass nearby.
Now, in the pond lived a crocodile. The crocodile saw the rabbit eating grass and
drinking water, and he thought how nice it would be to eat the rabbit.
One day the crocodile swam very close to the edge of the pond. He lay still in the water,
hoping that the rabbit wouldn’t see him. When the rabbit came to drink
, the crocodile opened his mouth wide and snapped the rabbit. The rabbit was caught
between the crocodile’s sharp teeth!
Of course, the rabbit was very frightened, but he did not want the crocodile to know
this. “I’m not afraid of you,” said the rabbit. “I’m only afraid of animals that roar. You
can’t roar, so you can’t frighten me.
When the crocodile heard this, he became very angry. He wanted to show the rabbit
that he could roar. And so, the crocodile opened his mouth to roar. When the crocodile
opened his mouth, the clever rabbit jumped free. As he jumped, the rabbit’s sharp toe-
nails caught the crocodile’s tongue and tore it out.
The crocodile tried to catch the rabbit again, but his great teeth only snapped off the
end of the rabbit’s tail. That is why rabbit today have short tail, and crocodiles have no
tongue.

Petunia is genus of perennial herbs of the nightshade family. The genus, which
contains about 35 species, is native to South America, chiefly Argentina and southern
Brazil. It is naturalized in Central America and Mexico.
This plant is widely cultivated for its showy flowers. The leaves are alternate; the slender
stems are weak, causing the plants to spread out. Petunia flowers, which are funnel-shaped
and usually solitary, have five sepals, five petals, five stamens, and a solitary pistil. The fruit
is a two-celled, many-seeded capsule.
The common petunia cultivated as a bedding plant in gardens in the United States is a
hybrid between two Argentine species: the large white petunia and the violet-flowered
petunia. This plant is popular for use in window boxes, because its stems droop over the
sides, hence the name balcony petunias. Many breeds of the common petunia have been
developed by horticulturists, including fringed and doubled flowers. Red, pink, purple, and
parti-colored flowers have been produced. Newer dwarf varieties with stronger stems,
growing as a low mound, are popular as edging plants for garden borders.
