For behaviourists, learning should be organized in
order that students can experience success in the process of
mastering the subject matter.
The method is introduced in a step by step
manner with proper sequencing of task which is viewed by other
educational psychologist as simplistic and mechanical.
What to Teach
Teach student to respond favourably to various stimuli
in the environment.
Teach student to look people and other animals as
complex combination of matter that act inly in response to
internally or externally physical stimuli.
How to Teach
When student struggle with uninteresting material, use special
reinforces and rewards to motivate them.
When students are learning factual materials, provide frequent
feedback; for abstract or complex material, provide delayed
feedback.

2. Cognitive Psychology
Definition
For cognitive theorists, learning constitutes a logical
method for organizing and interpreting learning.
Learning is rooted in the tradition of subject matter
and is similar to the cognitive development theory.
What to Teach
Teachers use a lot of problem and thinking skills in
teaching and learning.
These are exemplified by practices like reflective
thinking, creative thinking, intuitive thinking, discovery learning
and many others.
How to Teach
Activities should allow children to develop their own
thinking.
Learning development through direct day-to-day
experiences.

3. Constructivist Psychology
Definition
Learning involves the construction of new
understanding by combining prior learning with new information.
Knowledge is constructed in the mind of the learner.
What to Teach
The learners are taught how to learn. They are taught
learning processes and skills such as searching, critiquing and
evaluating information relating these pieces of information,
reflecting the same, making meaning out of them, drawing
insights, posing questions, researching and constructing new
knowledge out of these bits of information learned.
How to Teach
In constructivist classroom, the teacher provides
students with data or experiences that allow them to
hypothesize, predict, manipulate objects, pose questions,
research, investigate, imagine, and invent.

4. Humanist Psychology
Definition
The learner is a person who has feelings, attitudes,
and emotions.
What to Teach
Concerned with how learners can develop their
human potential.
How to Teach
Through focusing on the student’s need.
Based on psychological meaning and environmental
situations.

1. 1987 Philippine Constitution


THE 1987 Constitution of the Republic of the
Philippines
 The State shall protect and promote the right of all
citizens to quality education at all levels, and shall
take appropriate steps to make such education
accessible to all.

2. Presidential Decree No. 6-A 1972


Educational Development Decree of 1972
 This Presidential education decree aims to make
schools responsive to the needs of the New Society.
It embodies all the proposals submitted by the
Presidential Commission to survey Philippine
Education to President Marcos. President Marcos
issued the Educational Development Decree of
1972 as a national policy and as part of the law of
the land. This decree institutes meaningful reforms
that will decidedly improve the quality of life of the
curriculum.

Implementing Rules and Regulation of this
Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013
 An Act Enhancing the Philippine Basic Education
System by Strengthening Its Curriculum and
Increasing the Number of Years for Basic Education,
Appropriating Funds Therefor and for Other
Purposes,” otherwise known as the “Enhanced
Basic Education Act of 2013.

Policy Guidelines on the K to 12 Basic Education
Program
 The implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education
Program is considered to be one of the most
significant educational reforms in the country. It
introduces programs and projects that aim to
expand and improve the delivery of basic education
in the country. It seeks to provide the Filipino
learners with the necessary skills and competence
to prepare them to take off the challenges of the 21st
century. It will make the basic education system in
the Philippines at par with international standards by
ensuring that it is appropriate, responsive, and
relevant to the learners.

Policy Guidelines on Daily Lesson Preparation for
the K TO 12 Basic Education Program
 In line with the implementation of Republic Act (RA)
No. 10533 or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of
2013, the Department of Education (DepEd) issues
the enclosed Policy Guidelines on Daily Lesson
Preparation for the K to 12 Basic Education
Program.
Planning lessons is fundamental to ensuring the
delivery of teaching and learning in schools. These
guidelines aim to support teachers in organizing and
managing their classes and lessons effectively and
efficiently and ensure the achievement of learning
outcomes.
