CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

I. Background of the study

Every business requires some form of investment and enough

customers to whom its output can be sold on a consistent basis in order to make a profit. Growth

is often the bulls eye businesses aims for, yet ironically enough, when it arrives the sudden surge

can cause business to falter or even to fail. When a business is successful and grows, particularly

when the growth is rapid, management is almost always operating with limited resources and one

of those is limited financial management expertise.

Xam &Nella store started last February 2018, it is located just a stone away from a

school. The owner here is a single parent of four children, the reason why she put up this

business it is because in order for him to increase her income and help with their expenses at

home.

Groceries, school supplies, restaurant, computer shop etcetera are common business

establishment nearby school.

The Xam & Nella Store is located at Poblacion, Tibiao, Antique and is very near the

school of Tario Lim National Memorial High School. Their main products are school supplies,

groceries and gift items. It is currently paying for the BIR permit. Their little business supports

the needs of the family and help their neighbors as well. They earn a little income from their

business during summer vacation.

The Xam & Nella has indeed have a quite good income from June up to March. This

business earns 25,000 a month but that is only the maximum amount and it only depends on the

sales of the business sometimes the business cannot generate enough income or profit. Just like

any other small businesses the cash flow is very limited especially if you’re a sole proprietor you

are the only one who is paying the bills, many entrepreneurs struggle for this.

IV. Situational Analysis

A. PESTLE

The political factors affecting business are often given

a lot of importance. Several government policy affects
P( Political)
business. One of that is the train law because the most
affected are the businesses which is small and the
resources are limited. Political environment can impact
business organization in many ways. It could add a
risk factor and lead to a major loss.
The economic factors such as the income of the
customers indicates their ability to spend on the
E(Economic) products sold by the marketer. Another is the Inflation
rate that there will be less demand and supply will be
higher, forcing suppliers to reduce their prices but this
can be short term because restricting the supply of
money will reduce the output of businesses.
The social environment of the business can be integral
to its success or failure. Some of the effects of social
S( Social) environment are easier to measure than others. In the
businesses with positive social environment where
employees get along and are generally positive in their
relationship to one another, cooperation and teamwork
would likely to exist.
There’s no denying that technology had a n enormous
impact on businesses especially in communication.
T( Technological) Technology has made business communication faster
and easier.
In terms of legal basis the business is currently paying
for the BIR tax and also registered and have permits
L ( Legal) that is required.

Different environmental factors affecting the business

one of these is the business situation and the
E( Environment) workplace.

BODY

A. Proposed Solution

Poor management skills carry long-lasting effects and may infect the entire

business. It is the problem that is difficult to deal with. The solution to the problem in this case is

that to determine what those areas of weakness are and then to develop a plan for dealing with

those challenges That is through “Conducting a Training and Development Programs”.

Anyone in a business can be placed in a leadership role, but not anyone will excel without the

right combination of conditions, motivations, training of natural talent. Addressing poor

leadership skills in one of your employees starts with getting to the root of the problem. If you

are a business owner or manager, you should put a high priority on improving the abilities of

employees who hold leadership positions. Periodically enroll the owner in business leadership

training workshops and courses. An owner with low capability but an eagerness to succeed needs

guidance and instruction about the job itself.

A. Proposed Solution

The owner of the store must attend some seminars that somehow related on how to

plan or to decide for the business. “Effectively apply the Decision Making Process”. In order

for her to determine how she would decide effectively for the benefit of the business and also for

her. Through this, the owner can determine what are the things that she could consider for the

businesses improvement. When making a decision that involves complex issue, you also need to

engage your problem- solving, as well as decision making skills. It pays to use an effective,

robust process in these circumstances, to improve the quality of decisions and to achieve

consistently good results.

In real life business situation, decisions can often fail because the best alternatives

are not clear at the outset, or key factors are not considered as part of the process. To stop this

happening, you need to bring problem solving and decision making strategies together to clarify

the understanding.

Before you can begin to make a decision, you need to make sure that you fully

understand your situation. It may be that your objective can be approached in isolation, but its

more likely that there are a number of interrelated factors to consider.
