“WORK IMMERSION REFLECTION”

The only way to do great work is to love what you do.

This 80 hours of immersion is helpful and a meaningful experience during Senior

High School days. It is amazing you can gain more knowledge, ideas, insight and
background in choosing what course you are going to taken college. This experience
helps me on how to be a responsible, a better person and a successful professional
someday.

Reflecting back to my first day at SPC General Hospital , it was one of the most
memorable days of my time at work. After being assigned to X-ray room. I was
handed a tender to work on. On my second day of immersion at work I did not expect
that I’m going to be transferred to OPD. They were very open and happy for me to
contribute as much as I wanted to, and were open to any suggestions and ideas. This
instantly made me feel comfortable and definitely made me feel as though I was part
of the them.

During the first week of work immersion, I was overwhelmed by the work and
the responsibilities that were placed on me, but with the help of my supervisors and
the directors, who have had years of experience in the industry, I felt more confident
and supported as I knew my work would be double checked and any uncertainties
were explained. By observing and learning from them, I managed to pick up tips and
learned different things, from learning to communicate and deal with other people.

Working on tenders for the first few weeks was enjoyable for me as it did make
me use all what they taught. After a weeks of immersion, I have realized that it is
important to be focused and open minded. I also realized the value of communicating
properly with other people since we need to be cooperative when it comes to starting
a new construction to make sure that it will be resolved and done properly. It may
sound a bit busy but I still had the time to relax and reflect that I might enjoy being on
this job. What I have learned through the entire tenth days of my work immersion is
that diligence and perseverance is all that it takes when it comes to jobs. Given that
you are smart, knowledgeable and well educates, those two characteristics are the
most important thing you must have when you have a job.Your knowledge will
always be with you, but tiredness will prevent you to use it in the right way. It will
affect all your body and will let you do a human error, but perseverance will help you
do the right thing despite of the tiredness and exhaustion you are feeling.

Overall, my work experience at SPC General Hospital was positive. I was very
happy with the amount of things that I have learned and experienced. Diligence to
come to work every day on time and do your job over and over again in the right way
help you succeed in life. Also, happiness should always be in whatever you are doing.
