Course Description : This course will give students a deep understanding of the cruise industry (introduces cruise line profiles, history and trends in the cruise
industry). In addition, it will provides students with an appreciation of the other components of hospitality and tourism management such as
travel trends, developments and operators of resorts, hotels, golf courses and country club facilities for leisure, sports and recreation.

Pre-Requisite : HRM 111 – Introduction to Hotel/Restaurant and Related Institution Management; Tourism 100 – Introduction to Tourism Theory; Tourism 101 – Tourism
Industry Overview; and Tourism 102 – Tourism Planning and Development

General Objectives : At the end of this course, the students are expected to:

Cognitive :  Develop awareness on the basic cruise, leisure and recreation concept and operating procedures.
 Acquire knowledge on the significance and contributions of cruise as well as leisure and recreation destinations in the growth of
tourism industry.

Affective :  Value the diversity of leisure and recreation industry operating in the country.
 Provide the students with information on multiple venues for career opportunities in the future.

Psychomotor :  Appreciate the importance of cruise ship as venue for career opportunities.
