 ABSTRACT

This project has helped me in learning how to proceed with Import-Export procedures so as to increase the
international trade which leads to development of developing countries like INDIA can understand the
terminologies used in the letters and various documents prepared for the shipping consignment, with the
help of this project process of obtaining IEC is now more transparent and clear. This project helped me
knowing different documents for exporting goods to different countries.

The various documents prepared like Performa invoice, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading,
shipping bill, certificate of origin, marine insurance policy, fumigation certificate are now known properly.

ort-Ex
ort No. -it is the Pre-shipment document issued by the DGFT. It is
mandatory for each importer exporter to export or import their goods.

a Y LOC- Letter of Credit- It is a document of bank to bank. LC is a promise made by the

importer's bank to pay the amount to the exporter through exporter's bank. This document is
prepared by importer's bank on, so that any dispute regarding the payment of final amount to
exporter does not arise.


aY ree on Board (.O.B) is the price quoted which includes the expenses by the seller of the goods
on the ship. The custom clearance lies with the exporter of the goods.
