TREASURE
HUNT
"Treasure" is the word on the lips of the good people of Marpletownship.
Rumours a b o u n d that the Marple Caves a b o u n d with treasures — 20 of them — a n d
• all as close to priceless as only a n adventure g a m e can make them.
Of course, there's a catch, for the rumours also cater for a dragon, a b a n d of pirates
without a scruple between them, elves, bats, magicians, invisible dogs a n d other
even wierder beings.
O n top of this, whisper the talkative townfolk, the caves themselves are in poor
condition, there are deep pits into which many have fallen a n d died. And in some
places the roof leaves a lot to be desired.
C a n anyone be brave a n d foolish enough to wander unarmed into these caves in
search of a sprinkling of rubies, pearls, gold coins, d i a m o n d s , emeralds, a silver bell,
a gold watch, a golden harp, a m a g i c w a n d a n d other riches? Yes! In fact, they'll be
q u e u i n g u p to roam around down there a n d you won't be a b l e to talk them out of there
until they have grabbed all 20 treasures.
The first one to escape being eaten by a dragon, enchanted by a magician, or
robbed by a pirate a n d w h o can find his way back to the cave entrance with all the
treasures will find the good people of Marpletownship only too keen to offer him their
goods (at a reasonable price, of course) a n d talk long a n d hard about many
worthwhile investments. Lance Micklus has invented an enjoyable adventure
(translated for the Apple by Murray Summers) which has a good line in throwaway
humour. Key it in a n d try your h a n d at the best get-rich-quick c a m p a i g n since daily
paper bingo.
