FDD have Two Motors Prove by Different Media like internet etc

Wikipedia

A small motor in the drive rotates the diskette at a regulated speed, while a second motor-
operated mechanism moves the magnetic read–write head,(or heads, if a double-sided
drive) along the surface of the disk.

Wisegeek
A motor spins the disk and does so at a rate of at least 360 revolutions per second.
The stepper motor is responsible for moving the read/write heads where they need to be.

Drive Motor
1. The drive motor is a mechanism designed to spin the hub, or the center of the
floppy disk. Once the disk starts to spin, data is recorded onto different parts of
the magnetic disk.

Stepper Motor
2. This device is attached to the read/write heads on the disk. It is responsible for
locating the exact position on the floppy disk on which to read, record or erase
data. The stepper motor spins the disk to this exact location before any data is
erased or recorded.

3. The floppy disk is a data storage medium dating from the mid-1970s. It was
comprised of a magnetic storage disk housed in a plastic shell. When exposed to
magnetic fields, the disk would record data sequentially and save it. The floppy
disk was phased out during the late 90s and replaced by CDs, USB drives,
memory cards and external hard drives.

(1) Read/Write/Erase Heads

4. These are small electromagnets located on opposite sides of a floppy disk. They
control the information that is stored on a floppy disk. The names refer to what
the parts of the device do in regards to data. The read/write head reads and writes
data onto the disk and is located on the same side. The erase head is located on the
opposite side of the disk and erases data to make room for new information.
(2) Drive Motor
5. The drive motor is a mechanism designed to spin the hub, or the center of the
floppy disk. Once the disk starts to spin, data is recorded onto different parts of
the magnetic disk.

(3) Stepper Motor (Spindle or Drive Spindle)

6. This device is attached to the read/write heads on the disk. It is responsible for
locating the exact position on the floppy disk on which to read, record or erase
data. The stepper motor spins the disk to this exact location before any data is
erased or recorded.

(4) Circuit Board

7. This controls the read/write/erase heads and stepper motor of a floppy drive. It
exchanges signals with the computer's main circuit board and based on these
signals, determines where on a floppy disk information should be read, stored or
erased.
8. In short, The circuit board is responsible for taking the information and
transferring it between the computer and floppy disk drive. The circuit board is
also responsible for controlling the motors(both) of the floppy disk drive.
