 Problem for Multi-Purpose Refrigeration System:

IMPORTANT TERMS AND DEFINITIONS:

CONDENSER- A component in the basic refrigeration

cycle that ejects or removes heat from the system. The
condenser is the hot side of an air conditioner or heat
pump.

EVAPORATOR- A component in the basic refrigeration

cycle that absorbs or adds heat to the system.
Evaporators can be used to absorb heat from air or
from a liquid. The evaporator is the cold side of an air
conditioner or heat pump.

COMPRESSOR- A refrigerator compressor is the center

of the refrigeration cycle. It works as a pump to control
the circulation of the refrigerant, and it adds pressure
to the refrigerant, heating it up.

EXPANSION VALVE- The expansion valve is the

regulator through which the refrigerant passes from
the high pressure side of the system to the low
pressure side. The pressure drop causes the
evaporating temperature of the refrigerant to fall
below that of the evaporator.
