How did you start your blog?

I started my blog January 2009, a couple months after
I joined Chictopia, a community where I could share
my outfits. I loved that and wanted a more central
place to post photos of inspiration, share my own
photography and narrative along wiht my outfit posts.

Where do you get inspiration for your blog?

I get inspiration from friends like Kim of eat.sleep.
wear. and one of my favorite bloggs, Caroline of Caro-
line’s Mode. It’s helpful to see real people and what
they are wearing and how they style what you might
see in a magazine.

What advice would you give to girls who want to start

a fashion blog?
My advice would first and foremost be–are you pas-
sionate about fashion and do you have the time to
commit to a consistent posting schedule? I have so
much with it and enjoy updating mine around three
times a week. It’s also important to post anything of
quality--from the copy you write to the photos and
graphics you might share–it must be quality.

 about the editor
I am a sophomore at Minnesota State University Moorhead. I plan to

graduate in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass

communications with an emphasis in print journalism. From there, I

want to move to New York and get a job writing for a fashion maga-

zine. After getting some experience in the industry, I would love to

be able to start my own fashion magazine or work as the editor-in-

chief of a current fashion magazine.
