social student. By working with
one of his peers, this will play to
one of Diamonte’s strengths.
-Use of the conjugation chart: On
his IEP, it states that Diamonte
greatly benefits from using visual
organizers. The conjugation chart
will serve as a visual organizer for
Diamonte.
-Reduce the number of sentences
on Activity #3 and the homework.
Diamonte struggles with written
output. By reducing the amount of
writing he needs to do, this will
hopefully prevent him from
becoming frustrated.
-Provide a checklist of tasks to be
completed during class time: On
his IEP, it states that Diamonte
benefits from lists that help to
organize his day and tasks he
needs to complete. This checklist
will ensure that Diamonte knows
exactly what is expected of him.
-Write the schedule of activities on
the whiteboard in the front of the
class. In addition to the checklist,
this will provide Diamonte with
another resource for the tasks he
should be working on.
Ask Diamonte to repeat the
Differentiate Instruction.
-Possibly provide a different level
of reading. This differentiated
reading would utilize simpler
vocabulary with can benefit
Diamonte since he struggles with
spelling and vocabulary.
-Reduced amount of homework
and class work. As stated on his
IEP, Diamonte may need to have
modified assignments. Since he
struggles with written output,
reducing the amount of would
benefict Diamonte while he is still
achieving the lesson’s objective.

-Collect the packets at the
beginning of class the following
day
-Review student packets and
return them with corrections
-Compare Diamonte’s work with
assignments he completed earlier
in the semester to see his
progress.
-Diamonte’s packet will be grade
on completion, not accuracy.

to see if Diamonte fully
understands the directions for the
task he is working on.
-Use of the parent volunteer:
Parent volunteer can help record
answers for Diamonte since he
struggles with written output and
can help Diamonte calm down if
he is getting frustrated during the
lesson. The parent volunteer can
also read portions of the reading
or the directions to Diamonte if
needed
-Use of a rewards system for
successful completion of activities
and homework: This will provide
motivation for Diamonte to
complete his assignments in a
timely fashion.
