Flooding Rains to the Metro Area. Some of our Libraries Have
Experienced Flooding.
The Raymond Library
Had Flooding When a
Basement Sump Pump
Failed, and Water
Spread to the Main
Section of the Library.
The County Pumped the
Water Out of the
Basement and the JHLS
Facilities Team Picked Up
the Water and Brought
Fans to Dry the Floor. The Jeffers Library in Bolton
Experienced Flooding Due to a
Roofing Problem with the
Adjacent Building. David Archie,
the Supervisor for District 2, is
Working to Contact the Building
Owners, the Dixon Family, Asking
Them to Make RepairsInterior Stairway Walls
Welty Library Has Some Major
Damage From Water Flowing into
the Building from the Pediment
Stones on the Top of the Building,
Which Allows Water to Flow Down
the Inside of the Walls, as Well as
From the HVAC Leaks that Have
Plagued the Building Since the Re-
Roofing Problem Several Years Ago.
Stairs to the MezzanineWater is Now Streaming Down the Sides
of the Freight Elevator Shaft.‘A Window in the Children’s Area is
now Receiving Water Regularly. This is
a Totally New Leak. Note the Ceiling
Tile Overhead.Existing Leaks are Expanding, and More and More
Plastic is Required in Order to Cover the Expanding
Areas in the CeilingsThe Leaks on the Second Floor Have Now Increased to the
Point Where Even Larger Amounts of Plastic Must Be Used
TO Contain the Influx of Water.
The Pathway to the 2" Floor
Elevator is Now Block with Buckets
Please Note the Ceiling Tiles
Missing.Water is Running Down the Wall Where
Power Outlets Exist,
Please also note the Melting of the Paint on
the Walls, as the Moisture is Separating the
Paint from the Brick Service.Leaks on the Mezzanine are Increasing as Well.
The Amount of Water Needing to Be Emptied is
Now Over 19,000 Gallons per Day in the 30+

the Building Dry.The “Sky is Falling” in the Staff Men's
