Dengu Epidemic rumor in Kailali

Date of Inquiry: 067/5/31

On the date 067-05- 31 it has came to notice that there is an outbreak of Dengu in Kailali
district.
Today we have telephone communication with Mr. Narendra Joshi, SPHI, Focal Person
Epidemic, 093420188, Dr Amrit Pokhrel DHO Darchula.

As Narendra Joshi DHO Total 30-40 cases of fever are coming daily in OPD since 6-7
days, but no one sever cases and no one admitted in hospital from fever or ILI.

As per, Dr Amrit Pokhrel in initial phase children < 10 years were more affected and
nowadays children < 10 years are less affected than adult.

Regional Health Directorate has instructed the DHO to circulate the letter/ or inform the
health facilities to be ready for epidemic and be on duty all the paramedic staffs.

RHD also instructed Dr. Amrit Pokhrel and health staff to re visit the field with their
health team and conduct health education.

Today morning we had a telephone communication with Dr Amrit Pokhrel DHO


Darchula, 093420188, and in the evening we had telephone communication with Mr.
Narendra Joshi, SPHI, Focal Person Epidemic, 9749507867.

As per Dr Amrit Pokhrel DHO total no of daily cases of fever are partially decreased
from yesterday but we have to see 1 or 2 day after then we can say up to today situation is
more or less similar like previous days.

As per Mr. Narendra Joshi, OPD patients of fever are decrease today. None patients had
developed seriousness.

Sub: Viral fever Epidemic rumor in Darchula

Respected Sir,

As we have forwarded you the Viral fever Epidemic rumor in Darchula , Dr Amrit
Pokhrel DHO Darchula, and in the evening we had telephone communication with Mr.
Narendra Joshi, SPHI, Focal Person Epidemic.

On the date 067/5/28 we heard the FM News DPHO Kailali to RHD Doti. According to
the report 2 people are died and 6.are suffered of diarrhea. In the evening of 067/5/29 we
noticed no suffering reached 12 and no more death since 2067/5/28 and there is no new
case of diarrhea since 067/5/29.

Diarrhoeal Outbreak in Masuria VDC of Kailali

Date of Inquiry: 067/5/29

On the date 067-05-29 it has came to notice that there is an outbreak of diarrhoea in
masuria VDC ward No. 7 Bhul Tole of Kailali district which is located 1.5 KM north
from Masuria Shankarpur chowk of East West Highway and app. 50 KM far from
district HQ, Dhangadhi.

Total 6 people are suffered and 2 died (Gyanu Bhul, 11/ M, 067/5/25, and Jalu Bhul,
17/F, 067/5/28) of diarrhoea.

On the date 2067/ 05/28 the health team has been mobilized from district HQ, Mr.
Krishna G P Sinha, Focal Person Epidemic, along with drugs, ORS and IEC materials
and established Health Camp and Mass Health Education Program on water and
sanitation, personal and food hygiene, waste disposal and emphasized on the construction
of latrines.
As per Mr. Khagendra Shahi, HE Technician, today Mr. Harish Chandra P Shaha, Sr.
PHA, and other health team and along with medicine has moved there.

Today morning we had a telephone communication with Mr. Mr. Krishna G P Sinha,
Focal Person Epidemic-9858421330, Mr. Harish Chandra P Shaha, Sr. PHA, DPHO
9848428130, Mr Dirgharaj Joshi AHW Masuria SHP9848437641.

As per Mr. Harish Chandra P Shaha, DPHO has already mobilized health team, with
medicines, additional medicines and medicines for chlorination are left there. The main
source of epidemic may be polluted water from the source (wells, and tube well<20 ft)
and the improper excreta disposal. Now community has started to make latrines
(temporary) in the village.As per him, now cases are decreasing so the diarrhea is being
control.

Total 12 people are suffered and 2 died of diarrhea till 067/5/28.

As per Dirgharaj Joshi AHW Masuria SHP, the total 12 cases of diarrhea from 067/5/25
to 067/5/28 and 2 deaths of dirrhea. Any new case of diarrhea is not admitted in health
camp sice 067/5/29.

Today morning we had a telephone communication with, Mr. Harish Chandra P Shaha,
Sr. PHA, DPHO 9848428130, Mr. Dirgharaj Joshi AHW Masuria SHP9848437641.

As per Mr. Harish Chandra P Shaha Sr. PHA, DPHO, there is no new case of diarrhea
since 067/5/29. We have got ORS and we need chlorine tab or solution for water
purification.

As per Mr. Dirgharaj Joshi AHW Masuria SHP regular monitoring and follow up patient
is ongoing everyday.
