Kamin+ is a stove/heater designed for backpacking campers who
endure cold temperatures up to -15 degrees. Kamin+ is able to act
as a stove as well as a heater while feeding off the same fuel
source. It also contains an oversized knob that allows the user to
easily control the stove/heater while still wearing gloves.

KAMIN+
OUTDOOR PORTABLE STOVE/HEATER
From research, it was found that there were no camping equipment that acted as both a stove
and a heater. People often bring in the stove after using it outside to heat up the tents. But due
to the production of Carbon Dioxide, these stoves aren’t advised to be used indoor for too
long. Many iterations were done to figure out different aspects of the stove. Through out the
process, the form of Kamin+ was completely changed from its original state.

U.L.E.V. is a Police bicycle that can adapt to different law
enforcement scenarios, from neighborhood patrol to intense
altercation.

The job of a Police Officer is demanding; they have to appear

friendly and approachable in their efforts to protect the public, but
they also need to be intimidating and act as a deterrent to those
people who consider committing crimes.

The design of Travalls is inspired
by the life of the prothonotary war-
bler. The construction of this bird-
house attempts to mimic the struc-
tural life of the bird. The overall
shape is built using a series of wire
framing, covered by fabric to
enclose the space. It is designed to
be placed in shallow water in
flooded forests.

FURNITURE WIGGLEWOOD CHAIR

The town of Batawa is a small community with high spirits and great
potential. Both residents and visitors in Batawa have access to a
variety of year-round outdoor recreational activities such as hiking,
cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding and skiing. Considering
the town’s need for an all-season source of revenue, the project
focuses on the improvement of current seasonal activities.
Over the 8 month period of research and development, our group
Multi-use Boardwalk narrowed down the project to the Batawa Ski Hill Recreational Area.
Objectives of the project includes endorsing healthy social interactions,
promoting life-long education, practicing eco-sustainability and respect-
ing the natural setting. My part of the project focused on the development
of the trail system, addressing the long-term issues surrounding the
improvement of the existing summer trails.

BATAWA
MODULAR SHELTER SYSTEM
I started this project by looking into the psychology and behaviour
behind people in an outdoor space, how people perceive the visual,
auditory and kinesthetic clues while moving through a natural envi-
ronment. This led to the design of different elements that could be
implemented into the existing trails system to improve its value and
accessibility. As the project progressed, I decided to focus on one
specific element, the shelter.

A representational 1:1 scale model of the shelter was constructed and
brought to various areas for testing. 28 randomly selected people were
asked to come inside the shelter and express their feelings though a ques-

tionnaire. In addition the behaviours of the testers were recorded to verify

the functionality of the shelter. From the results, a revised model was built
