This document will detail the command set and interactive use of the Pandorabot. If you are an owner of a Truth & Beauty Lab Pandorabot and want to learn how to configure or customize your Pandorabot, see the Pandorabots Owner Manual included with the product or available in PDF format at http://www.scribd.com/doc/39356534/Pandorabots-Owner-Manual Truth & Beauty Lab Pandorabots are configured to query Wikipedia and Wolfram Alpha for responses making them the smartest scripted agents in Second Life. HOW TO CHAT WITH A PANDORABOT Pandorabots listen to Local Chat. To chat with a Pandorabot, simply type something in Local Chat. Pandorabots can be configured to respond either to all local chat or only to local chat which includes either the first or last name of the Pandorabot. In this case, preface your local chat with the Pandorabot's first or last name. For example, ana, what is the meaning of life would prompt a response from a Pandorabot named Ana Pandorabot. HOW TO TURN A PANDORABOT OFF/ON The owner of a Pandorabot can choose to configure the item to listen for verbal shutoff commands from the owner, an authorized group, or any resident. In this mode the Pandorabot will turn itself off when hearing any of the following phrases: "shut up", "shut up.", "shut up!", "be quiet.", or "be quiet". Touch (left mouse click) a disabled Pandorabot to turn it back on. The dialog menu can also be used to turn Pandorabots off and on.

HOW TO QUERY WIKIPEDIA WITH A PANDORABOT Pandorabots can be used to query Wikipedia and return the introductory Wikipedia summary of an article. To do so, use one of the trigger phrases below: "what is "what's " "what're " "what is a " "what is an " "what is the " "what are " "what are the " "what's a " "what's an " "who is" "who are" "who're" "who's" Pandorabots can be configured to automatically detect the user's language. If this is the case then the above trigger phrases can be chatted in Nihongo, Russkiy, Nederlands, Portugus, Polski, Italiano, Espaol, Franais, Deutsch or English. For example, to query Wikipedia for the introductory summary of the article on the fearsome Comanche Chief named Buffalo Hump, say Who is Buffalo Hump. To ask Wikipedia for a summary of the mathematical constant PI, say What is Pi. To query the Spanish Wikipedia for the summary on Picasso, say quien es picasso. Note, even though Wikipedia queries are case sensitive the Pandorabot query need not be as the Pandorabot modifies your query using Wikipedia capitalization guidelines. Note that the Pandorabot owner can configure the bot to either query Wikipedia or bypass Wikipedia so Pandorabots may respond differently depending on owner settings. Further, Pandorabots configured to respond only by name will need to be queried using their first or last name e.g. Ana, what is Pi ?. HOW TO QUERY WOLFRAM ALPHA WITH A PANDORABOT You can submit queries and computation requests to the Wolfram Alpha engine for factual answers. To do so, use one of the following trigger phrases: "wolfram alpha wolfram alpha For example, to query Wolfram Alpha for facts concerning Bismark, North Dakota say wolfram Bismark, North Dakota or alpha Bismark, North Dakota. To ask Wolfram Alpha for the cube root of 383 say wolfram what is the cube root of 383. If the search query is not found at Wolfram Alpha then the Pandorabot will query Wikipedia and, if no Wikipedia article exists, the Pandorabot will send the query terms to pandorabots.com for an AIML programmed response. HOW TO SEND EMAIL WITH A PANDORABOT Pandorabots can be configured to support the sending of email by any resident to any valid email address. To do so, use one of the following email triggers: "i want to email " "i would like to email "

"i want to send an email to " "i would like to send an email to " "email " "send an email to " Follow one of the above phrases with a valid email address. For instance, email missyrestless@gmail.com would prompt the Pandorabot to ask you for a subject and message body then send an email to Missy Restless. Note that the email From address is the Pandorabot's UUID so if you wish to include your own email address for a reply, do so in the body of your message. Note also that this feature, like most Pandorabot features, can be enabled or disabled by the Pandorabot owner. If you wish to cancel your email in the middle of your email entry with the Pandorabot, type the line cancel email. It is not necessary to use the Pandorabot name to send email even when the Pandorabot is configured to respond only by name. HOW TO RECEIVE A NOTECARD, LANDMARK, OR THIS GUIDE Pandorabots can be configured to present a dialog menu to the user when they hear the message menu in chat. If this is the case, the notecards, landmarks, manuals, and guides can be accessed via the dialog menu. Note that the Pandorabot owner can choose to restrict access to the menu system to owner or group only.
