Unit 4 Project Proposal: Steps to Owning a Franchise

The project I have chosen to write a proposal for, in collaboration with the English 320 Unit 4
Individual Project, will be to create an informational report including instructions and references
regarding the steps to owning a franchise. With a background in the field of business and the
completion of a Master¶s degree in Business Administration by 2012, this will help guide my
interest in owning a franchise in my future business career. Many business men and women are
engaged in the idea of being their own boss, and unless taking the entrepreneurial route, decide
to obtain a franchise knowing it is statistically one of the safest ways of becoming a business
owner. Continuing below you will find a summarized description of my proposal and the
objectives, methodology, timeline, and benefits included within this assignment.

As previously discussed in the introduction, many people interested in the business field have
dreams of becoming their own boss. There are many ways to go about doing so, however,
franchising remains one of the safest ways of becoming a business owner. Unfortunately, many
people underestimate the risks and responsibilities that are required, and may overlook certain
aspects that may cause their business to be unsuccessful and possibly fail. Because of the current
economic and market conditions, choosing the right business to franchise and the way of
obtaining it are crucial determinants for a successful ownership. I would like to use this
assignment as a chance to construct a report with a list of helpful suggestions that entail the
needs and requirements of franchising a business that I can use as a guiding reference in my
future as a successful business woman.
