Terima kasih diucapkan kepada Allah s.w.t kerana dengan limpah dan

keizinannya dapat saya menyiapkan tugasan menyiapkan tugasan yang

diberikan di Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Batu Pahat.Tidak lupa juga

kepada Penolong Pegawai Kesihatan Persekitaran(PPKP) unit Bakas En

Hj.Ariffin B Mukijo, Pembantu Kesihatan Awam(PKA) En.Samat B

Masram unit Bakas kerana banyak membantu dan memberi tunjuk ajar

di dalam menyiapkan tugasan ini.

PENGENALAN:

Latar belakang Kg Pt Jayus,Sri Medan

Kg Pt Jayus adalah sebuah kg tradisi yang terletak lebih kurang 32 km dari Bandar Batu

Pahat dan 7 km dari pekan Sri Medan.

Kg ini terletak di kawasan pedalaman dan pada tahun 1970’an kg ini tidak menerima

bekalan air paip dan elektrik.

Kg ini hanya dapat di hubungi melalui jalan darat. Pekerjaan utama penduduk kampong ini

adalah pekebun kecil kelapa sawit dan lain-lain hasil pertanian.

Latar belakang Projek Bekalan air Gravity Feed System

Pada tahun 1981,pihak Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia melalui Bahagian

Kejuruteraan telah memberi sejumlah RM 78,171untuk membina Sistem Bekalan Air Secara

Gravity Feed di mana punca air yang sesuai di minum di perolehi daripada Bukit

Moakil.Jarak punca air dengan kampong berhampiran adalah lebih kurang 5 KM.

Pada tahun 1983,projek GFS ini telah berjaya di siapkan dan memberi manfaat

kepada penduduk untuk mendapatkan bekalan air minum yang datangnya dari punca yang

selamat dan mencukupi.Sejumlah 206 buah rumah telah menerima bekalan air sambungan

paip dari empangan air bukit.

Setelah hampir 20 tahun system sedia ada di bina,satu kajian telah di buat oleh

pasukan Unit BAKAS ;Pejabat Kesihatan Batu Pahat pada tahun 2002.Kajin tersebut

mendapati terdapat beberapa kelemahan dan kekurangan terutamanya ke atas struktur

empangan air dan penggunaan paip GI yang di guna pakai untuk sambungan dari rumah ke

rumah.
