Transcript: Good Morning class. Today we are going to talk about colors! We¶re going to talk
about [point to each color as you speak it]: blue, red, yellow, green, purple, black, orange, brown,
and pink. Don¶t we all have a favorite color? I have the colors posted up on the board [point to
them], and so what I would like you to do is,  come up to the board and point to
your favorite color. After everyone has pointed to their favorite color, please sit back down in
your seat.

[take down the color flashcards from the board]

Now I am going hold up the color and I am going to say the color aloud. Please repeat after me.
[hold up blue card] Blue. Now you, [point to the class], say it with me..Blue. [hold up red card]
Red. [point to the class], Red. [etc. until you have gone through all of the colors]. [Go through
the deck of cards two or three times, depending on how quickly they are picking up.

Now, when I hold the card up, I¶m not going to help you. Say the color that I hold up. [Hold up
card, wait for them to say the color]. [Go through the deck two times.] Now that we know what
colors these are, we¶re going to go around the classroom and each of you will now say your
favorite color instead of pointing to it.

Look at the worksheets that I have just handed to you. Color each of the words with the
appropriate colored marker. When you are done with that part, I want you to re-write the word
that is in the box on the line [point it out on worksheet].

Transcript: For this next activity, we are going to be getting up on our feet and having some fun.
I am going to break you into pairs.

I will say your name and then a color. Your job is to get up and find something in the classroom
that is that color. When you find something of the correct color, you will ask your partner,
³What color is this?´ Your partner will answer by saying, ³This is _____.´ [write sentences on
the board]. So, what does the first person ask? [Say ³What color is this´ in unison with them.]
And your partner answers by saying? [Say ³This is _____´ in unison with them.]

[break class into pairs, there should be 6 groups of 2.] [Play this game until everyone has had a
chance to have a couple of go¶s at it.]
