o Ask if there are any questions from the Line of Best Fit homework from
yesterday. Work on HW problems if there are any questions.
REFLECTION:
Ideally, I would like to have a warm up or something that helps students
reconnect with previous material at the beginning of every class but today, it was difficult
to get through all of Investigation Problem 1 AND give students enough time to get
through the problems in the book.
Next time, I may try a more hands-on approach for the line of best fit problem
like have students gather their own data, however this would depend on whether or not I
believe the students are mature enough to complete a hands-on lesson plan.
I would most definitely not do a problem/lesson like this again because the only
time that students were remotely productive was when they where copying what I was
writing on the board.
It was a difficult decision to make to make students merely work on problems in
their books but my cooperating teacher and I decided that it would be the best approach
for the students we have this year.
