RESERVATION FOR WOMEN ?????
souce:wikipedia

Discrimination against men is rampant in India. Indian laws are biased against men.
The following instances show this sexist trend:

Alimony: Husbands are forced to pay alimony, while wives don't pay.[7]
Arrests: Females are not arrested between 6pm to 6am, while men are arrested at
any time.[citation needed]
Boys are discriminated against in primary school admissions, with extra points given to
female children. Schools say this is necessary in order to encourage continues
enrollment of girls. However, some parents of boys call this discriminatory, and say
that girls no longer face discrimination in educated families so differing treatment by
schools in unwarranted.[5]
Seats and compartments reserved for females: Seats are reserved for females in
buses, trains, metros and many other places. Entire railway compartments are
reserved for females, where men are not allowed to enter.[8] Kolkata Metro Railways
started the practice of reserving two entire compartments for females.[9] There are
even whole trains only for women.[10]
Taxation: Women have to pay less income and property tax than men, with tax
brackets set at higher income intervals.[4] Likewise, in Delhi, property taxes are
higher for men who have to pay a 6% stamp duty for registration of property, whereas
females pay only 4%.[11] Now a female minister wants lower tax rates for females.
[12]
No combat roles in the armed forces: Men can take combat roles in military, whereas
women are not given combat roles. According to a study carried out on this issue, a
recommendation was made that women officers be excluded from induction in close
combat arms, where chances of physical contact with the enemy are high. The study
also held that a permanent commission could not be granted to women officers since
they have neither been trained for command nor have they been given the
responsibility so far.[13]
Parental leave: Female government workers get 3 years of maternity leave, but
fathers do not get paternity leave.[14]
Delhi government and Municipal Corporation of Delhi have schemes only for girl
children. They are called "Ladli" and "Sumedha". [15]
Free legal aid is given to women and children, while it is denied to men. [16]
Crime and punishment: For committing the same crime, men and women are given
different punishment. A famous case is the assassination of former Indian prime
minister Rajiv Gandhi. The only living member of the suicide squad, Nalini Sriharan
was given the death sentence by the Supreme Court of India. But on the request of
Rajiv's Italian wife Sonia, the President commuted the sentence to life imprisonment.
No such favor was bestowed on the men prisoners, including Nalini's husband Murugan

Dowry and Domestic violence legislation

In India many laws have been enacted, which seek to protect women[2]. Some of
these laws like the anti-dowry legislation and the domestic violence acts were
vociferously opposed by a few men's groups as being fundamentally biased against
men.[2]

These groups argue that these laws don't follow the fundamental legal premise that a
person is innocent until he is proven guilty.[2] For example, a man accused of verbal
or physical violence against his wife or other female in his household must prove that
the abuse did not take place, rather than the reverse.[19][32] Acts such as 498A,
dowry prohibition, domestic violence prevention, and sexual harassment legislation
have been accused of being tools of the state to harass men,[3] amounting to "legal
terrorism," according to the Save Family Organisation.[3]

The threat of legal action by women has been used in a number of cases to blackmail
men.[33] Some cities, such as Bangalore, now have help-lines for victimised men to
call for advice.[34][35]

Men complain of being forced to pay maintenance for females, but not the other way
round, after the National Commission for Women sought a change in the definition of
"wife". Section 125 provides for maintenance of wife, children and parents, who
cannot maintain themselves; there is no provision for abandoned men. Adultery by a
wife (or long-term female partner) is no longer grounds for denying maintenance, [36]
Husbands being compelled to pay alimony while wives are exempt has prompted
claims by husbands that the Domestic Violence Act is being misused.[37]

[edit] Women's reservations

Women get 33% reservation in panchayats and municipal elections. There is a long
time plan to extend this reservation to parliament and legislative assemblies.[38][39]
[40] They also get reservation or preferential treatments in education[28] and jobs.
[28] Men are also discriminated against in admission to schools, colleges, and
universities. In this regard, law schools in India have a 30% reservation for females.
[41]

There are very few colleges exclusively for men, whereas there are many colleges
exclusively for females. Many subjects are taught exclusively in girls colleges, thereby
severely restricting the choice of courses for boys.[29][30]

The Prime Minister of India and the Planning Commission also vetoed a proposal to set
up an Indian Institute of Technology exclusively for females

----------------------

THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE HAS BEEN WRITTEN BY A FEMALE MASCULIST

----------------------

There’s two broad categories of MRA’s. One wants a return to traditional marriage,
with most women staying at home and the workplace being mostly a male realm. The
other takes the libertarian view that this tradition is just another form of exploitation
of men and that in the future, women should expect to have to support themselves
financially.
Of course, as things are now, men should avoid yoking themselves to a woman. But
the reform I would like to see is in the former category.

There are a few reasons for this. One is that it will only continue the current system
of female hypergamy. With culturally enforced monogamy, most people got married.
With “sexual liberation”, a handful of alpha males get all the sex from numerous
women, leaving the majority of men celibate, lonely and with no hope of children.
With so little in the way of rewards – no sex, no female companionship, no children,
and no job if the quotas require hiring a less-qualified woman – men have little
motivation to work at steady jobs instead of becoming criminals of some sort.
Polygamous societies, which leave a large number of perpetual bachelors, have a high
level of violence because young men have no reason not to commit it.

In addition, as I keep showing, most women are not particularly valuable in the
workplace. There are exceptions, but for the most part, the work that most women
are being paid to do ends up getting done by men (or lesbians). Most men have
experienced this. This is what evolution designed women to do – get other people to
work for them so that they would have someone to provide for them while they cared
for children – but it is a liability in the modern workplace.

Few women can psychologically cope with the rigors of the workplace. The Larry
Summers example is familiar to everyone; a woman heard a highly caveated
speculation that she didn’t like and had to flee the room lest she swoon. What would
we think of a male professor who announced that a colleague who proposed a theory
he disliked made him faint? As Mencius Moldbug put it:

One clue to the fact that something fundamental has changed is the almost complete
absence of true intellectual debate in the modern university. Nor does this mean
congeniality pervades throughout. It means that when you see the appearance of an
argument over ideas, the substance beneath that argument is not that of men trying
to convince each other and/or an audience. The substance is that of bureaucratic
warfare. When someone criticizes your work in the modern university, he is probably
trying to kill you and take your funding. His criticism is not the opening for dialogue;
it is the ritual pretext for an attack.

Thus, any fool who starts such an argument, with no better reason than that he (a)
disagrees with someone else, and (b) grew up reading about the age of Darwin,
Huxley and Wilberforce, will be surprised to find himself on the other end of an
administrative mafia war. You might as well call your opponent a faggot. It will not
exacerbate his ferocity in the slightest. He is right to assume that you are probably
out to kill him, and right to respond in kind. When in Rome, etc.

Mr. Moldbug blames this on “Progressivism”, but really, it is due to a particular

offshoot of Progressivism: feminism. Women are too threatened by heated debates;
some primal part of the female brain knows that if shouts give way to blows, she is at
a disadvantage. Indeed, scientists have determined that the normal way in which men
interact with each other is perceived by women as “harassment”. So universities (and
other institutions) that employ female professors are stuck with enforced conformity
of opinion. Since we need room for debate and intellectual freedom in universities if
they are to serve their purpose, it is necessary to limit the number of women in this
field.

Women, quite naturally, do not want to work full-time. Feminists might not like this,
but in real life, raising children does take time; it can’t be done in half an hour a day
after a fulfilling day at the office. “Gender equality” in the workplace means that
women will demand special privileges for the sake of more flexible schedules. Female
doctors in Ireland are only half as likely to work full time as male ones. The same
applies in England. Also in the UK, female pilots are demanding to be paid the same
amount for less work.

Just imagine for a moment what work would be like with few women in your office,
and those few compelled to actually do their jobs because they lack sex
discrimination legislation to force employers to hire them. No sudden backlog because
a co-worker has to take time off to look after her child who caught the flu at his day
care center. No random outbursts of emotion because you failed to anticipate a
working woman’s delicate feelings. No worrying that a casual joke will result in
accusations of “sexual harassment”.

Feminists have robbed women of a chance to do something truly useful to society,

something for which women are actually suited: raise children. Of course, today’s
western women have been carefully trained so that they are unfit to be anywhere
near a child, which makes them pretty much completely useless in any area.
Retraining will be required, which will require that anti-male legislation be repealed,
allowing men to treat their partners with the firmness which women need and want
anyway.

The most important reason I oppose the notion of making the sexes genuinely equal,
leaving women to support themselves, is that children need to be raised. My
Republican friends were furious at me for saying that a woman with a newborn special
needs baby was not in a position to be Vice-President of the United States, but it’s
true: preteen kids need to be looked after. They need to be taught proper behavior,
they need to bond emotionally with a mother who gives them affection, they need
nutritious food, and they need to be supervised. Not only do children need these
things, but the survival of the society requies it. These things take time. It’s
impossible to be a good mother and work full-time.

Feminists like to respond to such arguments by whining, “But most women can’t
affooooord not to work.” This is true, and it is one of the most heinous of feminism’s
many crimes. In the 60’s, most men, even blue-collar workers, could afford to support
their families themselves. The great fraud of “equal pay for equal work” was not,
contrary to current propaganda, a measure against the mythical pay gap; it put a stop
to the before-then common practice of paying married men more, since those men
had families to support. In fact, a century ago, one promise labor unions made was
that they would win men a “family wage” so that their wives and children would not
have to work!

Feminism has wrecked the economy. It abolished the practices which allowed most
men to support their families. It inflated prices of things like houses and cars by
dragging naive women into the workplace, allowing sellers to base their prices on the
two-income family. At first this might have been fun for those few women who had
fun jobs, but soon, all women were forced into this system whether they wanted to
be or not.

Women don’t belong in the workplace. Their job is at home, and men should be able
to do their own work without having to coddle and protect women while they do it.

I think the term "Reservation" is a hallucinating negative word, which
creates a positive illusion for the one it is favoured upon. One must
understand more of the cons associated with it than the pros. We had had
reservations since we achived independence; dint it put our country far
behind to be known as a developed world ? If the reservations were not
there then may be the deserving people or more intellectual chunk wud hv
contributed n we wud hv excelled exponentially. Take an example of Japan
- the way it has excelled even after being devastated by nuclear attacks; n
we, even after 63 years of independence, every1 calls us the third world -
has anyone thought about it , why ? Its the reservation. Why not the other
policies can be devised for the upliftment of the certain section that lags -
Propaganda can be released, People who really favour this must go to each
n every household to convince them about it (That's how we achieved our
freedom - Right ?) - but no one will be ready to do this; coz everything that
has been proposed today is to remain in power to rule the country; so they
say, "Be the Reservation in", we have our seats n we can achieve more by
touching the emotional chord of the weaker society. Who made the certain
section weaker ? The answer is themeselves. Who can strengthen them ?
The answer is "We the people" but not by reservation which creates a tiff n
negative impact between different sections of socities and Hinders our
progress as a NATION. We must understand one thing that Reservation is
temporary happiness for some people but the at the End of the day it is
India's Loss. Hence, for the me the deserving one should be in and Non
deserving one should try next time with more Zeal. Nation comes first -
that's wat we've learnt since our chilhood.

PS : Its my opinion, not to show any chauvinism but to show my LOVE

towards the progress of our Country. "Janani - Janmabhumishcha

Regarding the women reservation issue its been in and out of the
parliament for quite sometime now and for the first time in many years it
looks like it has a chance, today's news talked about the two main political
parties (cong and bjp) whipping up their mp's in the rajya sabha and telling
them to vote in its favour. As far as i see it there are only two outcomes
possible the first possibility is that either we will have politicians being
replaced with their wives, daughters, bahus etc and business going on as
usual and the second possibility is that level headed women take the seats
and this move actually turns out to be good for the country. It doesn't really
matter if a reform was brought in by a man or a woman as long as it is
carried out.

Regarding reservation in the air force for women i think it is one of the
stupidest ideas i have ever heard of and i am using harsh language for good
reason, the air force defends our lives at a time of peace and war if people
become pilots not because they are the best but because they are of a
certain gender, caste or creed then you are not only putting their life at
risk but the lives of whom so ever they will fail to save because of a lack of
skill. I have no qualms against a woman in the cockpit of a sukhoi as long as
she was the best possible person available for duty, futures of students
have already been destroyed in the govt's search for votes lets not destroy
every other citizens chances at survival...

the reason why a reservation isn't such a bad idea :

1. women all over the world have never had it equal with men. they are
viewed as the mother, the wife, the daughter. they perform so called
"feminine" jobs and lack opportunity to grow out and show caliber. with a
progressing society, it is needed to have "progressive" approaches, and not
regressive. so, societal norms have always held the women back in many
ways. that is changing today. and should continue to.

2. this is the beginning. today probably the women are not competent to fly
fighter jets (emphasis on : probably). it does not mean it will never happen.
it needs to be encouraged.
some girl , pursuing education, should be able to at least dream that high.
that vision and opportunity needs to be presented.
it is required to open doors. probably the flight of steps after the door can't
be climbed at once, but the path has to be open.

3. the other major factor is that most women are not physically at par with
men.
but again, training, fitness can make a valuable difference. and if a lady is
capable to be trained , in the least, why not give her the chance to at least
come in. i am laying emphasis on training because, men can be physically
competent even without being trained , because most are biologically built
strong, but a women filling criteria for training and with a will and desire,
should get the opportunity without having to compete on grounds that
aren't in her control. she should not be disqualified for being a women

i dont deny. women should be given reservation but then there has to be
something equivalent to reservation that the government should do for
men. what would it be?

would you be in the favour of providing child custody or alimony to

husbands by their wives just the way it's been provided to wives without any
question. some of them divorce their husbands without any legitimate
reason and then ask for child custody, property proportion and alimony
(even if she is employable and working). and that husband is left out with
nothing att all to look forward to in his life

@APSARA,

Your argument follows the pattern of standard feminist victimhood.

Men and Women were confined to gender roles, with subject to biology,
and for the economic and social progress of the society.

Men have faced hardships for building up the civilization. It is not that there
is evidence for this, it is just that if feminists and women are mentally
ready to accept some harsh truths
