Pre-requisites : Food Sanitation and Safety, Food Selection and Preparation

Course Description: This course is designed to introduce the basic principles of facilities design and layout, including: producing, processing, and scheduling
design; flow systems, activity and space requirements; personal requirements; materials handling; layout planning models and design ; warehouse operations;
manufacturing systems; facilities systems; quantitative facilities planning model; facilities review and planning.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, the students shall be able to:

KNOWLEDGE:

 Identify strategies in facilities planning process.

 Describe product design, illustrate process design, explain schedule design, and explicate facilities design.
 Describe the flow systems, discuss the material flow systems, explain departmental planning, expound activity relationships and identify space
requirements.

SKILLS:

 Design a facility system of a restaurant.

 Do the isometric drawing of some areas in the restaurant.
 Make a miniature restaurant based on your design.

VALUES:

 Appreciate the importance of planning the facility systems carefully.
