gether at home during the week. This tool is intended to help you lead a family worship time. Please go to God in worship as a family on a regular basis even if you do not use this re-
source. If your family completes one of the devotionals parents can initial in the boxes below and the child will receive a buck for every devotional completed.

Devotional One, Read: God became a human. Jesus was 100% human
while remaining 100% God. This is a tough concept for even adults but
scripture shows how this happened. View these scriptures as a family
and discuss what each one has to say about Jesus' humanity.
Scriptures to consider: Galatians 4:4; Luke 2:40; Luke 2:52; John 19:28;
Luke 23:46; Hebrews 5:8; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 1:3
Devotional Two, Pray: One thing that helps us see Jesus’ humanity is the
fact that He prayed. If Jesus’ needed prayer as part of His life, how much
more do we need to pray to the Lord allowing Him to move and work in
our lives. Look at one of Jesus’ prayers in John 17. Use this passage to help
you increase your prayer life.
Pray to God using Jesus’ prayer in John 17 as a spring board for under-
standing.

Devotional Three, Mold: Luke 2:52 says that Jesus even grew in wisdom
and stature (height and weight). This is even more evidence that Jesus
was fully human. If Jesus’ grew and we grow too, the we can look at his
life as an example for us. Think of something Jesus did that you can do
too. See if you can make a model with your playdough of something that
might represent Jesus’ growth and our growth from His example.
Devotional Four, Memorize: By this time, each child should be able to
recite something form the memory work. Reward each word they re-
member with a penny or a small piece of candy. Explain that they can
keep all of the pennies (candy) for themselves or they can share with
someone else or they can save it up.

Mold: Mold a characteristic of Jesus that we can have too (Jesus

prayed and so can we, Jesus worshipped and so can we, etc.)

Devotional Five, Sing: I love hymns. Hymns are songs that people might have been singing for hundreds of years. One of my favorites is “ O Little
Town of Bethlehem.” With your parent’s help, look up this song on the internet or in a hymn book. See if you can find the story behind the song.
Talk about this song and what it means. A good resource is “www.cyberhymnal.org,” you can listen and read the lyrics and read about the hymn. See
if you can sing the hymn once you’re finished learning about it.
