6.1. PRIVATE HOUSING

Renting a room in a private flat shared with other students is a very popular choice among Italian
and international students in Padua.

There are plenty of websites and Facebook groups that advertise rooms for rent.

Your network of personal contacts may become an important source of information as well.

Once in Padua, you will find informal accommodation advertisements in all the areas
usually frequented by students (libraries, Departments, canteens, cafés etc.).

Prices for a private room in a shared flat range from €200.00 to €350.00 (or higher) per month.
Please note that you will have to sign a formal contract when renting the room, and you will also
be required to pay a deposit of one to three months’ rent before entering the apartment.
Remember to ask for a signed receipt of payment!
We advise you not to make any payments from abroad in advance. Before making any payments,
make sure you meet your future landlord in person upon your arrival in Padua.
Please note that the University of Padua is not responsible for the policies of private
accommodation.
