The objective of the course is to teach the structure, production,

application areas and downstream processes of polysaccharides
produced by microorganisms. It is also aimed to inform the
Objectives of the students about the recent articles on microbial polysaccharides
Course and to improve their ability to review the related articles in the
literature.
1.To learn one of the industrial applications of
biotechnology.
2.To learn the industrial importance and uses of microbial
polysaccharides.
3. To learn oral and written presentation of recent advances in
LEARNING OUTCOMES microbial polysaccharides.
4. To prepare presentation and homework in foreign language.
5.To learn the multidisciplinary nature of biotechnology
6.To learn the structure, production and downstream processes
of different microbial polysaccharides.

The cellular function, structure, production, the microorganisms

used in the production and downstream processes of microbial
polysaccharides such as xanthan, gellan, curdlan, pullulan,
levan, scleroglucan, chitosan and dextran. The recent literature
COURSE CONTENT will also be reviewed and discussed within the scope of the
lecture.
