Everything in nature creates a vacuum. Nature requires every space to be
filled with something, even if that something is air. The same principle is
at work in our spiritual lives. When the Holy Spirit begins to convict us of
sin, the idea ...of starting a self improvement plan immediately starts to
come to mind. We put forth our best effort to defeat our worst habits. But
every attempt to get rid of unclean thoughts, attitudes, and desires is
destined to fail because getting rid of one creates a vacuum in our souls.
as soon as we empty ourselves of one habit another takes its place, and
we end up as bad or worse than when we started. Does this mean that we
are condemned to a life of sin? Certainly not! It simply means that when
we feel convicted we need to get a plan of action going in our spiritual
lives to take the place of the void created by the vacuum. The only
permanent solution to the problem of sin in our lives is to replace it with
the love of Jesus, which fills the vacuum . The more we are filled with His
love, the less room there will be for evil to invade.

I’m always AMAZED at how FERVENTLY Christians promote voting and some
election candidates. When Barack Obama ran for President, almost every African
American Christian was pushing him like he was Jesus. And even now with
upcoming elections, many Christians are fervently campaigning to get people
out to vote. The AMAZING thing about all this? If we pushed and campaigned
Jesus and the Gospel of Christ as FERVENTLY and as DILIGENTLY and as
FAITHFULLY as we do WORLDLY ELECTIONS, we’d have most of the World won
for Jesus already! We are so apt to push and promote carnal, worldly things and
causes, but neglect to promote Jesus just as fervently, if not more so!

The storm began to rage violently & the disciples feared! They ran to
the bottom level of the ship & found Jesus sleeping. They awoke Him &
said, "Master, careth not that we perish?" Now what's IMPORTANT here
is NOT the STORM on the OUTSIDE of the ship...BUT the PEACE JESUS
