Artificial Intelligence Worksheet -Finals

2nd Semester 2019-2020

Science, Technology and the Society

Building AI in companies and societies

Name: LOPEZ, OLIVE-WENDEL O. DATE: 4-23-2020

COURSE: BSBA MARKETING SCORE:______________

A: Answer the following questions below (Answer minimum 5 bullet points for each
question)

1. Case Study: Smart speaker – Write down the process steps command for the
smart speaker

 You simply speak commands into your phone

 It then sends them to your Echo and then you can ask it to perform
specific actions using the voice feature of the app.
 You don't need a wake word, because you wake the smart speaker using
the app
 Then it puts all connected Echo devices on alert.
 Then you just give the command, such as: "Turn on kitchen lights."

2. Case Study: Self-driving car - Write down the key steps command for the
self-driving car

 The driver completely controls the vehicle at all time

  Individual vehicle controls are automated, such as electronic stability
control or automatic braking.
 At least two controls can be automated in unison, such as adaptive cruise
control in combination with lane-keeping.
 The vehicle performs all safety-critical functions for the entire trip, with the
driver not expected to control the vehicle at any time.
 The vehicle includes humans only as passengers, no human interaction is
needed or possible.

3. Write down the roles of the following AI team members below and paste
pictures for each Ai members.
a. Software Engineer - Develops software solutions by studying information
needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and
work processes. Investigates problem areas.

b. Machine Learning Engineer - They're responsible for taking theoretical data

science models and helping scale them out to production-level models that
can handle terabytes of real-time data

c. Machine Learning Researcher - Machine learning researchers or data

scientists are people who work with data and build machine
learning models. They clean and interpret data and build models using a
combination of machine learning algorithms and data.
d. Data Scientist -  Data scientist duties typically include creating various
machine learning-based tools or processes within the company, such as
recommendation engines or automated lead scoring systems.

e. Data Engineer - The data engineer is someone who develops, constructs,

tests and maintains architectures, such as databases and large-scale
processing systems

f. Product manager - The product manager is the person responsible for

defining the why, when, and what of the product that the engineering team
builds
4. Ai Transformation playbook: Explain the AI transformation purpose of the
following.

a. Execute projects to gain momentum - It is more important for your first few AI
projects to succeed rather than be the most valuable AI projects. They should
be meaningful enough so that the initial successes will help your company
gain familiarity with AI and also convince others in the company to invest in
further AI projects; they should not be so small that others would consider it
trivial. The important thing is to get the flywheel spinning so that your AI team
can gain momentum.

b. Build an in-house AI team - While outsourced partners with deep technical AI

expertise can help you gain that initial momentum faster, in the long term it
will be more efficient to execute some projects with an in-house AI team.
Further, you will want to keep some projects within the company to build a
more unique competitive advantage.

c. Provide broad Ai training - No company today has enough in-house AI talent.

While the media reports of high AI salaries are over-hyped (the numbers
quoted in press tend to be outliers), AI talent is hard to find. Fortunately, with
the rise of digital content, including MOOCs (massive open online courses)
such as Coursera, ebooks, and YouTube videos, it is more cost effective than
ever to train up large numbers of employees in new skills such as AI
d. Develop an Ai strategy - An AI strategy will guide your company toward
creating value while also building defensible moats. Once teams start to see
the success of the initial AI projects and form a deeper understanding of AI,
you will be able to identify the places where AI can create the most value and
focus resources on those areas.

e. Develop internal and external communications - AI will affect your business

significantly. To the extent that it affects your key stakeholders, you should
run a communications program to ensure alignment.

5. What are the dos and don’ts Ai pitfalls that need to be avoided?

Don’t: Do:
1. Don’t Go Chasing Rainbows 1. Do Use What's Already Out There

2. Don’t do it alone 2. Do Monetise

3. Don’t lose human touch 3. Do Apply AI Capabilities to Industry

Opportunities

4. Don’t execute without a strategy 4. Do Focus

5. Overlook full requirements 5. Make AI a board issue

6. Don’t underestimate little efforts 6. Check out what other firms have
done

6. Taking your first steps in Ai: Write down initial steps in using your Ai.
 1 – Select a topic that is really interesting for you
 2 – Find solution
 3 – Improve simple solution
 4 – Share solution
 5 – Use machine learning professionally

7. Explain each survey for major AI application areas below:

a. Computer Vision - Computer vision, an AI technology that
allows computers to understand and label images, is now used
in convenience stores, driverless car testing, daily medical diagnostics, and in
monitoring the health of crops and livestock
b. Natural Language processing - Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an
emerging technology that derives various forms of AI that we see in the
present times and its use for creating a seamless as well as interactive
interface between humans and machines will continue to be a top priority for
today's and tomorrow's increasingly cognitive applications

c. Speech - A subset of speech recognition is voice recognition, which is the

technology for identifying a person based on their voice.

d. Robotics - Robots are widely used in manufacturing, assembly and packing,

transport, earth and space exploration, surgery, weaponry, laboratory
research, and mass production of consumer and industrial goods.

e. General machine learning - Machine learning is an application of artificial

intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and
improve from experience without being explicitly programmed.

B. Answer the following questions below.

1. Take a selfie picture of yourself using an Ai software or gadget that you are using at
home.
2. Explain the process in how your AI example works and uses.

Laptops increase the efficiency of the humans resulting in great and optimum utilization
of time and energy. One more important aspect of laptops and computers is that people
can bank online, shop online, buy/sell online, work online and earn online too. For
students like me, it’s important especially when it comes to online classes. So, this
invention has revolutionized our economy in a positive way
