Painting Analysis
Impressionist Painting
Eduardo Monte
The painting is a nudist impression that merely simplifies the scenery of a naked
woman with the accompaniment of two men. The position of the naked woman imbibes an
inviting gesture to men but in aghast, the men don’t seem to be aroused by the woman. The
skin of the woman who is bare is also porcelain white that doesn’t seem to matter to the
men in lieu with the realistic scenery. The woman behind in contrast is barely clothed but is
far away from the men – this seems to suggest that the men don’t have any perverted
thoughts but just enjoys the view of the ladies in partnership with respect to the thoughts of
the men.
The women above don’t have any clothing but the men are properly clothed so there
is a difference in terms of the conservativeness of their gestures towards women. The men
in the painting are numbered to be two and also the women. However, there seems to be no
courtship involved in the object of observation in the scenery. Meanwhile, there seems to
be no continuation with the line of observation of the men to the women. The men are just
content with themselves. Even though there are many tupsy-turvy objects around the
women which seem to be their clothing beforehand, the men don’t have any intention to
move the women’s attention towards themselves. In any matter, the men aren’t seduced by
the women involved in the scenic painting.
In conclusion, men and women at that era don’t seem to get the modernity of their
essence. Underestimating women is forbidden now but at that age of impressionistic reality,
women can be respected even without clothing that matters to the eyes of the entirety of
society’s ideals.
