CLINICAL HEALTH TEACHING PLAN

Objectives:

After 5 days of providing holistic care in 4A station, the student nurses will be
able to:

1. review concepts related to:

a. Care of medical-surgical patients

b. Hygiene and infection control

c. Therapeutic communication

d. Physical assessment and vital signs monitoring

e. Administering oral medications

f. Assisting in IVF insertion and regulating intravenous fluids

g. Intake and output monitoring

h. Administration of tube feedings

2. develop a plan of nursing care for a patient using strategies of

critical thinking.

3. demonstrate beginning skills in clinical decision making by using the

nursing process.

4. implement nursing care plan effectively and efficiently.

5. practice collaboration with other members of the health team.

6. participate in the evaluation of the patient and of self.
