Foreword
ICDS

Introduction:
The ICDS Schemes is very appropriate scheme developed by the central government and got more
and more popularity through out the country. The scheme is based on development of child and women in
general and nutrition programme in particular. Basically the scheme has been made for general public
without any class, category and social system. As per my option, it has not been addressing the particular
community, which means that it has lack of sensitiveness towards the urban community, which results the
failure of the scheme at particular level in urban areas. People are not participated at large in the Aganwadi
centers in the urban areas and not getting the benefit of the scheme. The impacts of the system lose their
credibility in the areas. It is due to the development of private school and pre-schooling Institutes in the
urban areas, people prefers to send their wards to these schools / Institutes instead of Aganwadi Centers,
and taste has developed for doing so, and a negative roamer has been made in our social communities about
the scheme.

Development plan:
Every developer, of a project has some specific aims and target groups, ICDS have also some target
groups, which are child and women in large, weaker sections in particulars. The same procedure is for
“Urban Aganwadi pre school development plan”, and same are the target groups but it should community
dependent as urban and rural communities has vast difference so, their will be some different tactics
programme to address these communities, for that I have developed this system which will be more impact-
able for remove nutritional deficiencies from the urban areas, and we get the result, which aimed by the
government.
In urban area the modern schools /pre schools Institutes has been established by the various private
organizations / individual, which changed the mind of the general public, and a special negative senses has
been developed in urban communities that if we send our wards to the Aganwadi centers, then we will be
caste in the poor families category, actually the poverty is every were in the urban communities, most of
people in the community is not afford the charges of these schools/institutes but they still want to admit
their wards in these school, because of the facilities and the good results in educational field but the
nutritional problems has always exist, as the schools has not aimed for that they are meant for educational
purposes only, due to that the poor people prefers to admit their ward in these schools.
To remove this sort of awful impression there is need of a change in the formation of the urban
Aganwadi Centers.
In nut shell: The combination of some Aganwadi centers to gather and formulate a community
based schools which will provide the nutrition to the Childers and women and beside of that the schools
will manage to educate the child and women’s up to the pre nursery and awareness respectively.
For that plan we need a community centre with hall and sophisticated structure for the development the
facility to over come the nutrition as well as basic education to the both child and women’s in urban area.

Achievement:
By this method
 We will learn to mange urban nutrition problems at gross root level.
 To minimize the negative approach of ICDS programmes in urban area.
 Sufficient use of food items.
 100% achievement by showing positive approach.
 Providing general awareness at prompt.
 Provide medicinal information to most of women’s.
 Provide modern structure at minimum cost and hygienic.
 To minimize the hesitation of women to approach the centers.
ICDS

 All the information will be provided at one roof.

 Establishment of social & political awareness to women.
 Daily programs shall be delivered at the community centers at urban area.
 Minimize the cost of rental buildings.
 10 centers in one group at ward level will be together and maximum achievements shall make in
managed manner.
 To institutionalize the system.
 In addition to proved nutrition, the possibility to provide a school of art, craft and economical
developments should be arranged.

Conclusion:

By this way we will hold on and to overcome the

social evils in the urban society as well as to promote
healthy society. It will facilitate our women folk, to be
developed educationally, socially, economically and
preserve the health to the future generation in urban
areas of the society.
Hope this program shall be implemented for our
growing society.
