CLC Paper Range On the following pages we provide
a chart that lays out our latest range
of color laser copier papers.
This easy to understand chart is arranged from the thinnest papers

at the top to the thickest at the bottom.
The range provides equipment users with a variety of surfaces and

paper weights to achieve virtually any imaging application.
Each of our papers has been designed to run consistently and trouble
free. All have been tested extensively, by the leading copier
manufacturers, on many of the most modern color laser devices available.
Our main range of CLC papers starts at 28lb bond (105gsm) and runs to
110lb cover (300gsm), the thickest available for today’s copiers.
Most are available in 5 popular sizes. Our abbreviations for these sizes are:

In selecting one of our papers, or any other manufacturer’s paper for digital color copying,
Making your selection be aware that the color or shade of the paper strongly influences the eye’s perception.
When selecting a paper, choose a sheet that has good brightness as well as sufficient whiteness to provide good color
reproduction. The closer to true white the paper is, the more accurately a given color will be rendered. All of the papers we offer
have a high level of brightness, whiteness, opacity and smoothness as well as a percentage of post-consumer waste (PCW).
Each of these important characteristics are factors in achieving truly exceptional print quality. To help you understand these
factors we have described each below:
RECYCLED PAPER
Environmental consciousness and a sense of public responsibility have resulted in the increased use of recycled papers.
Recycled papers are manufactured using some percentage of post-consumer waste fiber instead of virgin fiber. With
advances in wastepaper sorting and processing, recycled content can be found in many types of paper products, including
multipurpose bonds and other digital papers. There are two types of recycled fiber: post-consumer waste and preconsumer
industrial waste. Post-consumer waste is the fiber recovered from papers that have been used for their intended end-use, for
example a brochure or document that has been printed and discarded in an office environment. Pre-consumer/industrial waste is
the fiber recovered from papers that have been discarded during a manufacturing process, for example, the waste such as hole
punches or excess trim collected during a paper converting operation.
bRIGHTNESS
Brightness is a measure of the amount of light, of a specific wavelength, a sheet reflects. The more light it reflects, the higher the
brightness. Brightness, to a large extent, dictates the cost of the sheet, but has no relationship with functionality. Brightness has no
bearing on sheet feeding performance but does have a significant impact on image quality. High-brightness papers give more
contrast, allowing colors to stand out; low brightness papers are easier on the eyes for periods of extended viewing or reading.
Higher brightness papers do not necessarily perform better in your digital printing system but add value to your print jobs.
Adequate paper brightness enhances the contrast between the paper and the image, thus improving readability. Brightness is
especially important for color printing to ensure images are vivid.
SMOOTHNESS
A paper’s smoothness has a significant impact on image quality. If paper is too rough, image quality degrades; with increasing
roughness, expect a loss of print quality in solids and halftones resulting in graininess. Extremely rough paper does not allow toner
to fuse properly, which results in an image that may rub or flake off. Digital color grades are smoother to meet the more
demanding print quality requirements with coated paper being the smoothest grade.
wHITENESS (Shade)
Whiteness is an important property of paper as it relates strongly to the visual appeal of the printed product. Whiteness is a
measure of the light reflectance of paper across the whole visible spectrum as opposed to brightness, which is measured at only
one wavelength. In this way, it more closely matches the viewer’s perception of how white a sheet of paper is. Whiteness has no
impact on sheet feeding performance, but whiteness and brightness do play an important role in the visual appeal of the sheet and
printed product.
GLOSS LEVEL
The gloss level of paper is measured as the ratio of reflected to incident light. It is the reflectance of the surface that is responsible
for its shiny or lustrous appearance. A higher gloss is achieved by making the surface more reflective through a combination of
calendering (pressing) and/or coating choices.
OPACITY
Opacity is an important consideration in duplex/perfecting (two-sided) printing. Good digital paper must be sufficiently opaque to
prevent show through from the reverse side of a duplexed page, or from the subsequent pages in a set. Usually, the lighter in
weight a paper is, the less opacity it has. Opacity is especially important when printing color since multiple layers of toner are
placed on the paper.
Paper weight is generally expressed as
Paper weights ? Anyone confused ? grams per square meter (gsm),
a measure that makes it easy to compare any two pieces of paper, even if the papers are of
different types such as offset and index. In North America, paper weights are given as the
weight in pounds of 500 sheets of a particular size. The size of the basis sheet, however,
varies with the type of paper, thus making it difficult to compare weights between different
types of paper. A 50-pound xerographic bond is not the same as a 50-pound offset paper,
and both are different from a 50-pound index stock.

paper type, refer to the chart on page 54 of this catalog.

20 Heat Transfer Papers
With these heat transfer materials, you can reproduce your visuals onto T-Shirts,
mousepads, coasters, puzzles, binders, cardstock, hardwood, leather and more.
Traditionally, copier toner was oil based, with the advent of new manufacturing
technology, toner performance has improved dramatically. Chemically produced wax
based toner is now found in many of the latest color and black and white copiers. To
respond to this technical advancement, heat transfer manufacturers have had to developed
new coatings which are compatible with the new wax based toners. The down side is that
these toners need to have much hotter fusing temperatures to melt them, and since heat is
the key component to heat transfer, the problem becomes clear. Manufacturers of heat
transfer papers are continuing to improve their product. Testing is key to finding the
material that suits you.

TrimFree self weeding paper our new TRIMFREE self
weeding laser transfer paper. TRIMFREE is unique. It is a single step
application developed to leave ZERO background. Thats right, no more ugly
yellow background around the image or in the unimaged areas of the design.
Just think of the time saving with no more trimming the image prior to
pressing. Just print and press! TRIMFREE has been tested in both non-oil
based and oil based copiers. The toner adhesion is excellent and the feed
performance is outstanding.

ATP ATP Heat Transfer Paper is a direct replacement for customers using the Canon material 0819V805. ATP
will produce a thin, soft transfer that leaves virtually no visible background in the unimaged areas and

a non-oil transfer paper. This paper is showing jam free feeding in a wide range on copiers.

PAROPY/CL PAROPY/CL is an innovative, solvent based, textile transfer paper developed with a higher
melting point than regular transfer papers. This results in exceptional runnability through color
laser copiers. Being solvent coated, this paper is not as susceptible to humidity changes.

P-TP40 will feed through most laser color printers and laser color copiers. It offers great washability and vivid
P-TP40 color reproduction. P-TP40 can be used on cotton, poly or blends. This hot peel product is recommended for
commercial shops and professional shirt producers. This product works well on t-shirts, sweatshirts, heavier fabrics, wood
veneer, leather and other surfaces.

26 Lamination Materials
Lamination Films
Our lamination film is manufactured from high
quality components to ensure you get a superior
lamination each and every time. We have a wide
range of thicknesses and sizes to suit your
requirements; from extra light weight 1.5 mil to
extra heavyweight 10 mil. All are designed to
enhance colors and add lasting protection to
your documents and literature.
Film weight - The thickness or weight of lamination film is expressed in mils. We offer lamination pouches in 3, 5, 7 & 10
mil thickness and lamination rolls in 1.5, 3, 5 & 10 mil thickness. For pouches, the mil weight is expressed per side, therefore
the total weight of the pouch needs to be doubled. For example; a 5 mil pouch consists of two sheets of 5 mil film = 10 mil, plus
the thickness of your document, normal bond paper is 4 mil, giving a total thickness of 14 mil.
For rolls, the mil weight is expressed as the actual weight. For example; a 5 mil film is 5 mil in total thickness.
Pouch Temperature Setting - Our lamination pouches are manufactured with a low temperature premium grade
co-polymer adhesive. The temperature range is from 210° for the thinner films to 275° for the 10 mil heavier weight pouches.
The lower bonding temperature speeds up the laminating process and reduces the need for cooling.
Roll Temperature Setting - Our lamination rolls are manufactured in two grades of adhesive. The 3, 5 and 10 mil rolls
are produced with a CL low temperature premium grade co-polymer adhesive. The temperature range for the CL grade is from
220° for the thinner films to 270° for the 10 mil heavier weight film. The CR grade has an economical adhesive that requires a
higher laminating temperature of 290° - 310° depending on film thickness.
Applications - These pouches and rolls are designed to laminate a wide range of materials. They will adhere to
standard paper products, color copied papers, glossy printed and inkjet printed materials.
**F/A Ratio - Clarity of a laminated image is a function of both the thickness of the laminate as well as the ratio of polyester
film to adhesive in the combined thickness. Generally, the higher the ratio of polyester film (the first number) to adhesive (the
second number), the clearer the end result will appear. So too, the higher the polyester content, the more rigid the laminated
item will be.
NOTE: In all cases we recommend test trials to determine the best setting for your particular machine and substrate.

Our laminating rolls are available in a wide range of sizes from 9” up to 61” width.
These laminating films represent a competitively priced means of protecting
and enhancing all forms of documents including those produced on inkjet and
electrostatic printers. In addition to protecting images from weathering, edge damage,
graffiti etc; new thermal laminates offer 75 to 80 percent reduction of ultra violet rays
which cause inks, toners and papers to fade and discolor prematurely.
CL thermal laminating films are premium grade, thin polyester base

Low Heat CL Grade Roll Lamination Film
films, featuring a low adhesive melt temperature which increases
production speeds and reduces silvering and film distortion. A copolymer adhesive provides excellent adhesion to a wide
variety of materials. CL films are perfect for high-speed applications for both one-sided and two-sided laminating. CL films are
recommended for laminating color copies and other digitally produced originals. Temperature range from 220° to 270°.

together with a 1/8” seal on one edge for small pouches and a 1/4” seal on one

proof border. Each pack of pouches comes with card carriers to accommodate

Our pressure sensitive lamination films are used for
protecting and enhancing output from photographic
and digital print technologies. They are available in
gloss, luster and matte finishes. The face stock is a
PVC film with an optically clear UV-resistant acrylic
adhesive, which has repositionable properties initially
and then cures to a permanent bond. The use of
these laminates allows prints to endure severe
environmental exposure and helps to reduce fading
due to ultra-violet exposure.
Pressure Sensitive UV Gloss is an exceptionally clear, glossy 3 mil film that helps bring out the brightest colors of

A) These products incorporate a side stripe or backing sheet in order to trigger optical feed sensors in the copier.

C) The two-sided coating on these products allows them to be placed either way up in the feed tray or manual bypass of the copier.
D) This heavyweight paper is suitable for select color copiers, check the media users guide for compatibility with your copier.
E) The coated side of these films (the one designed to take the image) can be identified as the side without the split backing sheet.
F) A removable tape or paper backing is bonded along the film’s edge using a release adhesive that allows easy removal after copying.
G) The backing sheet of this material is 1/8” larger than the facestock to facilitate feeding and easy separation before application.
H) The coated side of this material (the one to take the image) is indicated by the printed backing sheet or on the film’s optical sensor stripe.
J) Due to the rigidity of this material, we recommend that this material is fed only through the manual bypass of the copier.
K) It is recommended that this material is run on second side or heavy stock mode when available.
M) This material is ideal for large jobs where multiple sheet feeding without jams is essential.
N) The special paper backing attached to this transparency film allows it to be run in the copier at normal paper speeds.
P) This material is also very suitable for use on monochrome black and white copiers.
