For the “Sermon on the Mount” to
be understood, we have to see
that Jesus was a rabbi with s’mika
and that this passage is the core of
his yoke (his interpretation of
Torah)

Beatitudes are the Theory of
how to live
Each section thereafter is the
practical application of the
beatitude
The “yoke” is how God relates to
man, man relates to God and man
relates to man. It is both
theoretical (i.e., doctrine) and
practical (i.e., how that doctrine is
implemented).
