It’s now very easy to tell your family or close friends your wishes
about registering for organ and tissue donation.
“Your DonateLife Message” is a simple but powerful online
application that enables people to create a personalised video
message about their decision to become an organ and tissue donor.
The “Your DonateLife Message” video application can be found
on the DonateLife website or the Facebook page and through
Medicare’s Australian Organ Donor Register website.
To discover more about organ and tissue donation, what to do when
you decide to become a potential donor and suggestions on how to
discuss your wishes with your family, please visit the website.

Expressions of Interest – ACT Natural Resource
Management Projects
The ACT Natural Resource Management Council is seeking
Expressions of Interest for natural resource management projects to
be undertaken in the ACT and immediate region as part of a regional
investment strategy for 2011-12 to 2012-13. Funding for successful
projects will come from the Australian Government’s Caring for our
Country (CfoC) and ACT Government complementary funding.
Expressions of Interest will be evaluated by the Council using the
following criteria:
• degree of contribution towards CfoC and ACT priorities and targets
in delivering on-ground outcomes;
• innovation in approach;
• demonstrated strong partnerships and collaboration between
organisations;
• degree of leverage to other investments; and
• demonstrated community engagement and capacity building.
Expressions of interest open on 15 January 2011 and close on 18
February 2011.
A public meeting will be held on Thursday 3 February 2011 at the
Woden Seniors Club, 12 Corinna Street, Phillip, ACT from 4.30pm to
6.30pm to provide information on the Council’s priorities and the
Expression of Interest process, and to assist proponents with their
proposals.

Celebrate Australia Day in the Nation’s Capital
What: Australia Day in the Park

Australia Day in the Park will keep you entertained all day long,
with the Great Aussie Day Breakfast, Flag Raising and Citizenship
Ceremonies, the popular Children’s Festival featuring Ben 10™.
The Australia Day Jam will also showcase great local bands and
professional skateboard and BMX demonstrations and workshops.
After an action packed day, enjoy performances by the McClymonts
and lake based entertainment, followed by the spectacular fireworks
finale over Lake Burley Griffin.

Canberra Gold Award Nominations
The Canberra Gold Chief Minister’s Award recognises the unique
contribution made by individuals and groups who have chosen to make a
long-term commitment to the ACT.
The ACT Government celebrates this dedication through this award, that
honours individuals and groups who have resided or operated in the ACT
for fifty years or more as at 12 March 2011.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 4 of the Roads and Public
Places Act 1937, of the intention to close the following roads in the ACT.
CITY
RUDD STREET: between Marcus Clarke Street and Hutton Street.
TIME: 6.00pm Friday 28 January 2011 to 6.00pm Monday 28 February
2011.
REASON: sewer main relocation works.
GREENWAY
REED STREET NORTH: between Athllon Drive and the entrance to the
Tuggeranong Hyperdome open air carpark.
(Please note access to the open air carpark will be maintained during
these works.)
Right turn movements will not be permitted at the Athllon Drive / Reed
Street North intersection.
TIME: 6.00pm to 6.00am Sunday 23 January 2011 to Friday 28 January
2011 and Sunday 30 January 2011 to Friday 4 February 2011.
REASON: asphalt resurfacing works at the intersection of Athllon Drive
and Reed Street North.
GREENWAY
PITMAN STREET: between Athllon Drive and the entrance to the
Tuggeranong Hyperdome open air carpark.
(Please note access to the open air carpark will be maintained during
these works.)
Right turn movements will not be permitted at the Athllon Drive / Pitman
Street / Rowland Rees intersection.
TIME: 6.00pm to 6.00am Sunday 23 January 2011 to Friday 28 January
2011 and Sunday 30 January 2011 to Friday 4 February 2011.
REASON: asphalt resurfacing works at the intersection of Athllon Drive
and Pitman Street.
CAMPBELL / FYSHWICK
MONARO HIGHWAY SOUTHBOUND: will be closed at the Morshead
Drive roundabout.
All Monaro Highway southbound traffic will be diverted via Morshead
Drive, Fairbairn Avenue, Pialligo Avenue to reconnect with the Monaro
Highway.
MONARO HIGHWAY NORTHBOUND: will be closed on the approach to
the signalised intersection located south of Sylvia Curley Bridge.
All Monaro Highway northbound traffic will be diverted to the Morshead
Drive roundabout to reconnect with Morshead Drive and Pialligo Avenue.
TIME: 6.00pm to 6.00am Sunday 23 January 2011 to Friday 28 January
2011 and Sunday 30 January 2011 to Friday 4 February 2011.
REASON: asphalt resurfacing of the Monaro Highway signalised
intersection south of Sylvia Curley Bridge.
