Proposed Topic/Title Dredge more on distance learning: Online
Teaching Strategies and Approaches
Motivation of the Researcher The pandemic has brought a lot of challenges
and changes in the Philippines and other
countries. The education system is one of the
affected systems in the country. Differences
in approach and strategies have been
recommended in order to deliver quality
education still.

Distance learning is being suggested and


studied by field experts to consider students'
safety while learning. Some of the ways this
can be done are through different flat forms
like online classes, modular, educational
television and radio-based instruction in
teaching. Hence, the researcher wants to
explore these means and their relevance in
today’s new standard setup in teaching and
learning.

Research Gap More and more educators tend to shift from


the traditional classroom to online teaching as
it provides flexibility not only for themselves
but also for their students. This researcher
aims to guide other teachers on how they can
successfully impart knowledge to their
students even if they do not see them face to
face. Researcher aim to dredge up some
simple tips and tricks, such as online teaching
strategies, which teachers can use to boost
student online learning. Futher more to
understand the concept of distance learning
including its advantages for teachers and
students. Moreover, to establish necessary
preparations before starting to teaching
online. Finally, create their own online
teaching framework and apply different
online teaching strategies and approaches to
maintain student engagement.

Statement of the Problem Specifically, the following questions were


answered:
1. How this pandemic crisis change the
perspective of teaching be describe?
2. How distance learning be describe?
3. How online learning be describe?
4. How do the teachers perceive learning
and engagement through distance
learning?
5. How to establish necessary
preparations before starting to
teaching online.?
6. What are the most useful and effective
approaches in online teaching?
7. What are the strategies utilized by
teachers in formulating new strategies
and approaches?
8. Based on the results and findings of
the study, what recommendations can
be made in order create their own
online teaching framework and apply
different online teaching strategies
and approaches to maintain student
engagement.
Research Design This is a phenomenological qualitative
research to unearth the opinions, thoughts and
feelings of respondents. It is most commonly
used to help inform new concepts, theories
and products (Tiley, 2009). Qualitative
research examines the way people make sense
out of their own concrete real-life experiences
in their own minds and in their own words.
This information is usually expressed in
everyday language using everyday concepts
( Cropley, 2019). Hence, Phenomenological
approach is suited for this study.
Respondents/Participants The paramount of this research is to drege
more on strategies and approaches of
teachers in Sta. Lucia Elementary school in
preparation for the opening of the class
amidst the pandemic. This study is to be
conducted this academic year 2020-2021 in
the Municipality of St. Ana, Province of
Pampanga
