Joint Cutters made by CEDIMA

You will come across joint cutters made by CEDIMA in road and highway construction
or in the restoration of industrial floors. They are essential for cutting floors and ceilings
made of concrete or asphalt by means of diamond saw blades. For many years CEDIMA
joint cutters have been proving their efficiency on many national and international
building sites.
A wide range of different types of machines and motors ensure the best possible technical
equipment for any kind of cutting operation. Joint cutters are driven either by powerful
petrol, Diesel or electric motors. Drive output is fitted to the maximum cutting depth and
the diamond tools. All CEDIMA joint cutters can be used with wet as well as dry cutting
blades.

Selecting a Joint Cutter

Joint cutters should always be selcted to suit their particular tasks. They are not only
differentiated by their motors but also by their feed drive.
Joint cutters without self-propelled feed drive or with manual drive are preferably used for
low cutting depths or for short cutting lengths. The operator‘s physical strength determines
the progress of the cutting operation. These types of joint cutters are mainly used for the
repair of roads and sidewalks as well as in gardening and landscaping.
For cutting tasks requiring very long and/or deep cuts, the use of joint cutters with feed
drive or fully hydraulic joint cutters is recommended. The operator‘s job is effectively
eased by the integrated feed unit. These large and very powerful joint cutters allow high
daily performance at a maximum tool capacity utilisation. Joint cutters with feed drive are
preferably used in the construction industry and for extensive repair of road and highway
surfaces.

Accessories
For special joint cutting tasks an accessories programme is available.
For separating or deep cutting operations directly along an edge, all CEDIMA joint
cutters can be equipped with a flush cutting attachment consisting of a flush cutting flange
and a flush cutting blade guard. Diamond saw blades used for flush cutting have to be
provided with corresponding bore holes.
Joint cutters with feed drive are equipped with a conversion kit for cutting green concrete.
As cutting operations in green concrete require small blade diameters, the cutting arbor‘s
revolution rate has to be modified. The green concrete attachment includes a blade
guard, a V-belt pulley and a set of V-belts.

Despite their compact dimensions the new joint cutters series

CF-1000 achieve a cutting depth of 200 mm
(with saw blade-Ø 500 mm).
Due to the motors‘ position the balance point of the machines
has strongly been relocated downwards. Thus a high
steadiness is achieved. Extra large running wheels
(Ø 200 mm) provide a high comfort of travel motion.
A generously sized hand wheel enables a
precise cutting depth adjustment.
The removable water tank is equipped with a large
filling opening, assuring long cutting periods
due to its capacity of 28 liters.

The CEDIMA joint cutters of the medium range show a great number of technical variations.
They are equipped with a hydrostatic drive, easing the operator‘s job and simultaneously
ensuring a constant feed of the machine. Four different motor versions and well thought-out
details, such as adjustable handles or the cutting depth adjustment make the joint cutters of
series 2000 comfortable and versatile machines. The large water tank and the economic
water supply to the blade via the cutting arbor ensure long operation periods without
external water supply.

The CEDIMA joint cutter CF-3000 is on the the top of the medium range. With its modern,
powerful Deutz Diesel motor it is suitable for heavy cutting operations on job sites. A saw
blade of Ø 1000 mm that can be mounted in front right or left, achieves a cutting depth of
380 mm. The blade drive can be connected or disconnected via the hydraulic coupling.
The blade drive is effected by means of two triple power strips, held hydraulically to the
correct tenseness.
For a precise straight cutting the rear axle can be adjusted by means of a hand
wheel. The handle bars of the CF-3000 are adjustable to the operator‘s height
and remain in a constant height independent of the lifting
position. The blade receptacle‘s width of 20 mm enables the mounting of several
saw blades for cutting wide joints.

Electrically driven joint cutters without self-propelled feed drive are preferably used for cutting
operations in closed areas, such as ceiling openings and restoration of floors. Feed, cutting
depth adjustment and lifting of the saw blade are manually done by the operator. The blade
guard can be opened up to the fore, enabling cuttings right to
the wall. The compact dimensions of the joint cutters
and the modular construction of the CF-22 E enable an
easy transport of the machines even to hardly
accessible locations.

The electricity-driven joint cutters CF-2015 E and CF-50.1 E are especially designed for
heavy cutting tasks indoors where it is not permitted to use machines with combustion engines
due to regulations regarding emission and/or noise protection.
Water supply is effected via the blades flanges (CF-2015 E) and via the blade guard
(CF-50.1 E). For both the machines there is a standard indication of cutting depth. Due to the
blade guard that can be opened up at the front, cuts can be made right up to the wall. The
powerful drive motors and best possible operator‘s handling give highest daily performance
and most effective use of the diamond tools.
The adjustable rear axle of the CF-50.1 E ensures exactly guided straight cuts.

The CEDIMA joint cutter CF-4100 is a very powerful machine for working in asphalt or
concrete surfaces. Its 58 kW provide sufficient ressources even for heavy cutting tasks,
e. g. in road construction.
The short wheelbase and the hydraulic steering make the machine extremely manoeuv-
rable. Even in narrow spaces the CF-4100 can be easily handled.
Despite the compact dimensions the machine is equipped with a powerful hydraulic unit,
providing travel drive, steering, lifting of the blade, attachment for slurry removal and visor.
The cutting arbor is driven by a low-vibrating
V-belt. The10 V-belts are combined to 2 power strips.
The diamond saw blade can be mounted left or
right in front. The saw blade drive can be
connected or disconnected hydraulically.

The CF-5010 is a universal joint cutter. All the operational functions are driven fully hydrauli-
cally. Due to the infinitely adjustable cutting arbor the machine ist suitable for the opera-
tion with small saw blades, e. g. cutting green concrete, as well as for large saw blades up to
1000 mm diameter.
Only a few steps are necessary to change the saw blade‘s position of the CF-5010 from the
right to the left side or vice versa. The hydraulically driven cutting arbor changes sides. All the
operating elements are arranged in ergonomically favourable postions. The lateral seat enables
the best possible sight on the cut. Due to the hydraulic steering and the compact design the turn
radius comes up to 4,5 m only. The hydraulically raised and lowered blade guard covers the
blades completely while cutting. Optionally
the machine can be equipped with a powerful
attachment for slurry removal.

CEDIMA joint cutters can be equipped with various attachments and accessories. The fully
hydraulic CF-6000 offers the greatest variety of add-on possibilities. Separating and deep
cuttings are possible, cuttings in green concrete as well as horizontal cuttings, cutting of grooves,
the making of core drillings up to 600 mm diameter, and furthermore to drive wall saws.

1. Slurry removal by suction for CF-3000, CF-4100, CF-5010, CF-6000

consisting of turbine and slurry pump for collecting and pumping off slurry. The turbine is driven
hydraulically for the joint cutters CF-4100, CF-5010 and CF-6000, and mechanically for the CF-
3000.

2. Green concrete attachment for CF-6000 (slurry removal possible)

for cutting expansion joints, especially cross joints in green concrete. Blade and blade drive can
be moved along the joint cutter beyond the axle base, thus enabling cuttings beyond the edge
of the roadway.

3. Longitudinal attachment LS-2 for CF-6000 (slurry removal possible)

for cutting of very long joints (center joints) in green concrete up to a cutting depth of 160 mm
in one work step. Two saw blades are set one after the other in one line. The first blade of 350
mm diameter does the first cut and/or widens up, the second saw blade, Ø 500 mm, does the
final cut.

4. Grooving attachment for CF-6000 (slurry removal possible)

 MILLING MACHINE

The milling machine CRF-60 B serves for

milling out unintentional cracks in concrete
and asphalt. By mounting several diamond
saw blades a milling width of up to 20 mm
can be achieved. The milling depth depends
on the diameters of the used saw blades and
can be up to 60 mm.
The CRF-60 B can be used for dry and wet
milling. When dry milling, a vacuum cleaner
can be connected. When wet milling a water
reservoir of 10 l serves for cooling the saw
blades and for dust binding.

The sturdy, torsion-free tube frame makes

the machine especially robust. The milling arbor is
guided in precise high-performance bearings
and is always in the operator‘s visual field while
milling. A firmly adjustable milling depth
